Eating All Day

Does anyone find themselves almost eating non-stop, you are so hungry??

I started resistance training on a more consistent basis again recently, and that coupled with my road biking, and my metabolism seems to be sky high.

I moved to a new area and don’t have a job yet so I’m home. I find myself either shopping for food or eating/cooking for a very large portion of my day now. I don’t like huge meals so I’m pretty much eating every hour or so.

It’s like that ‘full’ feeling never comes. I’ll eat and my stomach is packed, I feel like a fat ass yet I could keep eating.

I just ate breakfast (oatmeal, bagel) and I’m more hungry now than before.

Is it the carbs? I can’t eat vegetables and meats all day.

Carbs are not very satiating. Fats and proteins are much more so. Similarly, shit food is not as satiating. Try eating a steak and some broccoli. You’ll be full for a long time afterward.

Don’t avoid fiber, but try increasing the size of your meals. You may be avoiding getting full because it’s uncomfortable, but my guess is if you got yourself full you could probably go an entire three hours without being hungry.

Also… drink lots of water. It’s easy to confuse dehydration with hunger. Most people walk around moderately dehydrated. Suck on water all day between meals and eat larger meals.

if you are not eating meat and veggies, then what are you eating?

I could go for a big steak with some mushrooms and onions sauteed in some evoo right about now…and a loaded baked potato…mmmm *drool

That’s what I was thinking also.

Humans can live & thrive with 0-very little fiber. My suggesting was more towards how the OP should stick to fatty meats instead of filling up on carbs or fibrous foods to nourish his appetite & avoid getting a false sense of fullness.

To each his own. Judging from his limited post I really think he might just be eating out of boredom & not getting enough protein/fats.

I doubt this is the case as combining hard resistance training with endurance work is a recipe for catabolism.

OP, bump the protein and fat in your meals. Eating predominately carbs isn’t going to keep you satiated with this type of training.

I agree. On my lazy days I find myself doing that. Eating healthy, high-protein, preparation intense stuff I can’t make on a work day, but basically existing preparing one meal to the next with scattered activities in between. If you’re trying to get big, nothing wrong with that as long as you’re putting the right stuff in.

Not really much to say besides even with training hard, my appetite sucks, if i wasn’t training I would literally only want to eat 2/3 or less of what I do. I WISH I had a massive appetite, as it is, unless I’m really organised with my day, I struggle to get the calories. 2 of my meals are over 1000 cals though, so yano… filling.

wow, what does a 1,000 cal meal look like? And, um, why?
