Anybody used it? Care to explain how it works to a noob? Does it take a long time to set up? I have to re-type a 250 page document, just in case you’re wondering what I’ll use it for. ![]()
Thanks in advance!

If U one 2 take lick this. Ten dragging naturally speaking is for you! In this monument, I am you sing Dragon naturally speaking to write this, without edict.
…turned it off…
The thing is novel, I got an older version cuz my Mom to lazy to use a keyboard and then never used the thing so I kept it around to fool with. It’s pretty inaccurate even after you train it. I’m unsure of the new versions, but after training it, that first paragraph is basically what you get on a one take.

I have version 9 and used it to write several articles for a nootropics website. It is accurate, even when using technical vocabulary, which surprised me.
Acetycholine, aniracetam, cortisol, etc, etc are all ok once you speak and then edit the mistakes a couple of times.
The only problem with mine is that my mother stole it ![]()

Ha we have opposite problems problems then. I have version 5, that probably explains its lagginess.
Bushido, what field of work are you in?
I have it for the iPhone … not so great. I think I need to train my Dragon.
Ask Cressey he’s using it.
Thanks everybody for your input!
I have version 10 pro, it works perfectly. To get the program used to my voice, I read J.F.K. inaugural adress. I’m still getting used to the voice commands, but overall I’m glad I got it.
Not dissing this, I think it’s a cool piece of tech, but does it add any productivity? I personally write faster than I talk. Also, add in being able to move around and edit various parts of what I’m currently writing on, and I don’t really see the point. Again, your mileage may vary.

I think considering the amount of work…250 pages…you would be better off speaking it then typing it lol.

It sounds like a vastly superior method for that would be to scan the document and use OCR to convert it to text. There are some good and cheap/free OCR software packages out there. It would probably not be perfect, but Dragon would be full of mistakes as well.
