Donation frequency

Hey all. I’ll be starting TRT at the end of the month at a dose of 140mg/wk Test Cyp, taken twice weekly subcutaneous.

The NP at the clinic warned about the possibility of needing to donate platelets occasionally.

For you guys that have been on TRT for a while, do you end up having to donate and how often? Thanks!

NP sounds lacking in true experience. That’s a rare situation, especially with proper dosages. You follow up labs will expose any issues, don’t fret. Highly unlikely.

My hematocrit levels climb. It’s the one side effect I experience.

I donate a few times per year at whatever interval is allowed by the blood bank and sometimes am off a few weeks.

As an aside, google the health benefits of phlebotomy. They’re a pretty interesting bonus.

The donation usually revolves around a high red blood cell count. Not everyone on TRT has a high RBC. Your blood work will show, and sometimes a constant thirst, like you can’t get enough water CAN be a sign. Not always. Proper bloods in the only science.

Yeah, I never had any abnormal levels, but donate because we need blood donations, and I physically always feel better afterwards. People were made to bleed.
