Does TRT Have Real Benefits?

@mikebarnes thanks, appreciate the information. I’ll have to see what my ferratin comes back at and depending I’ll probably request a full iron panel. My doctor thinks I’m a nut but oh well.

So taking 400mg magnesium glycinate at night, I’ve been noticing some anxiety lately but it’s more prominent in the mornings. This wouldn’t have to do with the supplements right? Also taking 5000iu D3.

What kind of anxiety? In what situations? Do you mean nervousness, shyness, worrying, or something else? There are supplements that can cause anxiety, but not the two you mention.

Magnesium glycinate should calm you down, if anything. As a rule, you can take five times your body weight (in lbs) in mgs of magnesium. A 200 lbs man can take 800 mg, if not more.

D3 shouldn’t cause anxiety but I have heard that it’s energizing, so it’s best to take it in the morning. If no one has said it, you have to take k2 with d3. I don’t know if you have labs that show a low vitamin d, but if you’re trying to raise it, you’ll probably have to take at least 10 000 ius per day.

Man, your testosterone is jacked up. Are those tough levels?

One of the benefits of magnesium glycinate is it’s ability to quell anxiety. Like anything else it may take getting used to before the benefits start. Vit D levels take a long time to build up.

I started ashwadanga, glycinatw, Theanine before bed and it’s working as long as I don’t eat 2-3 hours before bed. Or have any sugar. otherwise nothing helps.

@mikebarnes
That was 185mg/week daily sub-q so basically peak & trough. Not as high as it seems but high indeed.

Believe it or not, when you mentioned anxiety, my first thought was Ashwagandha. Some people react poorly to Ashwagandha. Try cutting it out to see if the anxiety dissipates.

Why do you do daily injections? Your shgb isn’t too high. That’s a lot of pins.

@mikebarnes
I feel a lot better on it. I tried every injection frequency before doing daily. It’s a 30 sec (at most) process and using a 28g insulin syringe it’s literally painless. I can’t tell you why it works better for me but it does. I had a rough start with TRT and it took a lot of trial and error.

@mikebarnes it’s almost just like a hyper awareness and just can’t stop moving can’t relax type deal. Definitely more of a social anxiety but I still somewhat notice it when alone. Really seems to be just a morning thing, overall though I have a certain level of social anxiety that TRT has certainly helped (only 2 weeks in so far).

I’m 200lbs, so i should maybe take 800mg magnesium glycinate nightly?

I took it a couple times and it works . I tried without and glycinate, theanine, and melatonin and no good.

No anxiety thank god. Just normal worries mostly: business, family and etc.

I should of clarified I spoke out of context. For me it was all about sleep :slight_smile:

@dextermorgan when did you start noticing the increased energy with B12 supplementation?

Some increase on day 1 but 2-3 weeks before it was very noticeable
