TRT @ 30 yrs old when already in the 600 range is probably not ideal. There are pluses to getting on it but I’d wait 5 years until the pluses far out way the negatives. All the issues above would be better addressed by supplementing with quality fish oil (Omega 3).
For starters you’ll get the SSRI effect without the SSRI side effects, reduction in anxiety levels, improvement in most mental health related issues, better blood flow especially in the brain, reduced inflammation in the areas you don’t want inflammation which can help with thyroid issues… To name a few of the benefits but most importantly getting your brain and body in a better default running state and in turn happier/healthier. In all honesty supplementing omega 3’s is such a game changer with little to no risk that I’d recommend you go that route first and I’m someone that got on TRT with a natural test level close to 600.
You don’t need it. Did you check prolactin? Your SHBG may be high from diet/training, was that checked? Freeing up some test will raise e2 some and help with libido.
No, it’s not. It’s determined from healthy men (ppl always assume it’s fat, sick, old, whatever, but they screen that). It’s a representation of the “average” man in each demographic.
You can argue that the average guy isn’t “optimal” anymore, and I think that’s valid, but to say the ranges aren’t useful isn’t correct
No need for TRT. Sounds like you’re wanting to just do a cycle. Go for it, but please don’t refer to it as TRT.
I wish people would stop with the “reference range is useless” crap. If you WBC came back at 10,000 and the doctor said “the reference range is useless, your ancestors had high WBCs, so I’m not giving you antibiotics”, what would you think? That’s more of an extreme example, but people are taking this shit too far. Do we not think that technology has come a long way and maybe the testosterone tests we were using in the 70s weren’t nearly as accurate? No, surely the explanation is that men are being feminized by the government.
Sorry man, but when your test is at 700 naturally, the reference range totally applies to you. Your anxiety and ED problems are not testosterone related. See a therapist.
I did another lab and my test came back as 800 something.
Decided to try taking test anyway. Taking 210mg a week for 2months now (prescribed). Still have anxiety, but overall I feel better. Zero side-effects so far and not taking anything else other than the test.
Just making this post for anyone else who is considering trying. Not interested in debating whether I should take TRT or not – I’m feeling better on it, so that’s enough for me. Also I’m getting stronger which is nice, too.
