Nothing wrong with a Glock other than their triggers being trash.
But I daily carried a Glock 36 for a long time.

Agreed. Not sure if itās a ābadā trigger, but I never got used the feeling of that safety-trigger thingy. (Excuse my technical language.)
Related: What do you guys think of the traditional curved triggers vs. straight triggers? I love the straight one on my Sig, but I canāt really tell you why. Just feels better.
Glock is without question the first recommendation I ever give out whenever someone is asking about getting their first pistol. They are just damn good guns, that for the life of me I just canāt get to āfeelā right. I can hit pretty well with mine, but I donāt love that Iām more accurate with almost any other pistol that I try out, even with all the extra practice I have on the Glock. Maybe itās time for a trigger job, perhaps that would fix it for me
I hate curved triggers. They cause me to pull right when shooting. Flat triggers are what I run in all my guns.
Definitely get an aftermarket trigger and I would recommend trying out a flat trigger too.
Any specific Glock trigger recommendations? I also like the flat front triggers, with the only real exception being a lightly curved straight back trigger. (Which really just means I learned how to shoot on a 1911, and it still holds a special place in my heart)
Personally I like the Overwatch, Pyramid, or Zev Tech.
Thanks, Iāll check those out.
The total cost of ownership for Glocks is a bit lower than some of the other options as well.
I wasnāt exactly flush with cash when I got my 17, but I put a good amount of rounds through the three factory mags it came with to ensure their reliability. They sit loaded with high quality hollow points. I snagged a 10 pack of P-mags for like $90 and beat the absolute snot out of them, and not a single one has quit on me. Canāt really find that value with anything else on the market in terms of mags.
The trigger is objectively not great, but Iām so used to it now that itās just whatever. I wound up snagging a 19 recently just because Iāve already got an entire kit for it. I really considered something like the PDP, VP9, or Canik because their triggers are all just next level for striker guns, but then Iām looking at new holsters, spare mags, and TOC goes way up.
My attraction to hammer fired pistols is too high for me to commit funds to another striker set up that, in reality, while definitely better than the Glock triggers, still arenāt as nice as finely tuned DA/SA or SAO guns.
Itās not quite the same, but Iāve got a 930 SPX. Solid gun.
I have one.
I rate them like this.
Got some practice in this afternoon with a friend of mine. Brought out that new 19 I picked up and proceeded to punch the best groups A) of the day and B) that Iāve shot in a while. We also had a CZ P01, Springfield 1911, Ruger Single Six .22, and a Beretta 92FS. All guns that have objectively better triggers, more weight, better sights, or literally no recoil. Goes to show you familiarity with something pays off. Variety is fun but I know what Iād grab in an uh-oh moment.
I love the 940 jm pro! Great gun in my experience, but Iāve only got maybe 800 rounds on one, so not sure longevity yet.
Yeah sad shit but we all knew it was coming sooner than later.
We lost one of the good ones.
This could go in hobbie or metal thread but⦠Hereās a shotgun stock Iām currently working on. A buddy did the wood burning and Iām doing the finish (BLO). This wood is really drinking the oil so itās probably gonna take like 10 coats and some fine sanding to get a good sheen. Iāll posts pics when itās all done. Off a stoeger m3000
Great project! Canāt wait to see the final pics.
Nice!
