Does Anyone Else Here Collect Guns?

I’d recommend rocksetting them.

Wolfman on the KP9. Can’t wait to shoot this. People are raging about this Dead Air Wolfman.

My son and I took the Python out today and ran a box of .38 special and two cylinders of magnums each through it.

I am not nearly as good as I imagined myself being with this gun. I still put together some decent groups, but I have a lot to learn about shooting double action revolvers.

That said, boy was this a fun gun to shoot!

They are second to none.

I have no buyer’s remorse whatsoever. The Python is a fine revolver that will stay in the family, hopefully for at least a century before someone sells it for weed money or an ill-advised NFT investment.

I particularly liked how shooting magnum loads literally hits you in the face with the blast.

Cheap guns matter too, and I also broke in my Chiappa Little Badger on this range trip. The sights on this break-action single-shot were way off but I made a dime-sized group on my first 3 shots in almost a year at 15 yards. With my eyesight, I’ll take that as a good opening group.

The great thing about double action revolver shooting is, it is the easiest to simulate and improve with dry firing.

For interesting ammunition, check out Lost River Ammo. He does small batch ammunition geared towards outdoorsmen.

I love the SCAR and am totally aware that other firearms exist that can do what it does at half the cost. But the cool factor, they win. And with the can on it, I’m am once again drooling.

The scar is wayyy overpriced imo.

All the things I have replaced in a $3K+ gun is a little ridiculous, but I will say it runs flawlessly and shoots suppressed like a dream.

How does the Scar compare to the CZ Bren? At one time I thought the Bren might be the poor man’s Scar, and a while ago I saw that CZ was coming out with a .308 Bren. If that comes to market under 3K, and uses common PMAGS, that would win biggly.

CZ Bren is okay. Scar takes it between the two imo. The scar is lighter and feels better IMO.

The scar is easier to gas for suppression and runs better.
The scar has much better sights and line of sight with barrel placement.
The CZ has the inside the trigger guard bolt release, it is stiff, and I feel like a release on the right side would have been better overall.
The CZ’s trigger is better than the scar stock trigger, but the aftermarket scar triggers blow CZ’s away.

The CZ did have the upside of not having a reciprocating charging handle, but FN has fixed that as well.

I like that CZ offers this in 7.62x39 especially with shorter barrel configurations, but they take proprietary mags which sucks.

I had an itch for an AK pistol for a while, but the proprietary mags knocked that one out of the running.

I ordered the Sig Spear LT in 11.5 inch chambered in 7.62x39.

That is what I would recommend.

In addition to guns, I also collect knives and flashlights. “Unc, how many flashlights do you have?” On me, right now? Three.

Anyway, one of my gucci flashlights is made by Cloud Defensive, who were allegedly going to come out with a pistol light soon. I frequently scope out their website for updates and came across this:

They are very up front about the fact that it is made in China:

I wonder if “Knives & Gear” would be a good thread to start here in Guns & Shooting Sports. Lots of overlap with the audience.

…and I want to post all my knife porn.

:grinning:

By all means, get started on them. I aspire to one day have a second gun safe, just for my knives. The highlights of my collection are both common types of WWI American trench knives, of which I have no pics on this phone. But this kind:
