Reminds me of this
But the Earth forgave Rodney for that
@Voxel very cool video. Been a big Rodney Mullen fan for most of my life. Awesome dude.
Hypertrophy Day
Supersetted everything to save time, my wife wanted us all to watch a movie so I cut everything short, still got a good workout in
Superset incline Bench 185 3xfailure with pull-ups 3xfailure
Giant set Seated DB shoulder press 50s 3xfailure with dB lateral raise 3xfailure with Seated Charles glass inspired lateral Raises 3xfailure
Preachers and diamond pushups 3xfailure
Left with an enormous pump and got a quick run with Alfie in, now time for sushi and a movie
Same as @flappinit massive Mullen fanboy - ever since I unlocked that character video on THPS2 - guy is unbelievably good on a skateboard.
Rumor has it the reason his stats are among the worst in the game was because he didn’t play the game during development and so the devs just kept lowering his stats
Haha that’s harsh, but on my game his stats were always top; only character I played with - you see 1&2 are getting a remake?
Yup, thought about getting the limited edition but figured I could put the money on other stuff. Kinda regret it now after I bought a skateboard anyway
revenge of the nerds!
Conditioning and Abs
Superset captains chair leg raises 3x20 with rope crunches 52.5# 3x20
10 rounds boxing, 2 minutes on, 30 seconds off, 5 rounds on wrecking ball bag, 5 rounds on heavy bag. Had some frustration to get out, and punched til I felt better. It worked.
Definitely keeping trap bar deads in the rotation, as I like how my strength is exploding on it. OHP is switching to seated pin presses, maybe with the football bar too. Also going to rotate in hack squats for my leg day. Hypertrophy day is pretty straightforward. Going to start running a bit more, though. One year from now there’s a 22 mile swim-run race that you do with a partner, going to do it with my sister in Washington state. A total of 3 miles swimming and 19 miles running through the mountains, switching back and forth between swimming and running in various lengths. You can use fins and hand paddles but everything you start with you have to cross the finish line with. There’s a shorter version that’s more like 10 miles running and 2 miles swimming if I run into an injury, but the plan is to tackle the whole thing.
Sounds like a great race. I like the idea of back and forth instead of swim-run.
Is hypertrophy day just another name for RE Upper? I’ve ran WS4SB a couple times in the past, it’s a fun program.
Yeah, it’s just the reps day. I call it hypertrophy day because it’s got sets to failure and a lot of work in the 8-15 rep range, so that’s pretty much what it is.
I’m really enjoying the simplicity of it, the freedom to rotate exercises out every couple weeks, and I’m smashing conditioning in the meantime. Perfect program to accompany my busy life at the moment.
Also, yeah - I’ve done just swim-run races before and they’re fun, but I think the concept of being able to use fins and stuff and just carry it all with you and go back and forth between swimming and running is gonna make a really cool experience. Plus, it breaks up the running and lets you use your arms for a while. Conditioning will have to be ON POINT though.
@T3hPwnisher pot roast is in my new pressure cooker! I went to get an Instant Pot and they only had some super ultra mega version that was like $180 and I didn’t wanna drop that, so I looked up reviews for the other pressure cookers they had, and the $50 Farberware Pressure Cooker had really good reviews. Thus far, the sear option worked great, and it’s in the middle of a high pressure cook, float valve is working nicely, everything seems fine. Will report back.
Outstanding dude! I bet it will be delicious
We’ll see. I followed what looks like a good recipe, since it’s my first time using one and the proportions I generally use may not be appropriate here. I really go super minimalist on the liquid in mine, and this had about a cup of liquid total, so we’ll see if I have to adjust it down. I tend to follow recipes pretty closely the first time, then make adjustments afterwards. This is why I love cooking - it’s not a concrete science at all, totally open to constant experimentation and substitution. Baking is boring as shit - follow the recipe, one wrong thing can ruin it.
I love to eat stewed meats. The pressure cooker was the best kitchen investment I’ve ever made. Used it at least 6days a week when I was in Shanghai. Oxtail soup in less than 45min!
Fuck, dude.
That was GOOD.
Seared the chuck (seasoned with s/p/g/onion powder), added broth/Worcestershire/balsamic/tomato paste, pressure cooked for 30 mins, vented, added potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, pressure cooked for 15 mins, done.
Here’s the cooker
I literally just put 3kg of beef and all the “extras” for a massive winter stew on an order 5mins before reading this. Good to know I’m in good company.
That looks amazing: well done dude. You remind me how much I miss pot roast, haha. It was one of my primary means of getting the 1.5lbs of meat on BtM. Such a simple way to get huge portions.
