Hobbes’ chief work is “Leviathan”. Its a tome. Lots of skimming needed. Locke and Rousseau are the two other primary camps I am most familiar with.
Thanks, I’ll add it to my (admittedly extensive) reading list.
I have a pretty clear idea on how I view it, but I’m also aware I’m an idiot so it would be nice to read others thoughts.
Also: Hobbes Leviathon sounds like an absolute killer Magic card.
Is this real? For some reason Dave does not seem to fit the image I have of you.
No-one expects a Dave.
My parents were meant to call me Andrew, after Prince Andrew, but they thought it would be too common. Dodged a bullet there.
I guess I didn’t think about Prince Andrew. The only Dave’s I know are Jewish and the only Andrew’s I know are Christian. Didn’t realize that till now, haha.
I was almost named Amsterdam…so there’s that. My real name is bleh and blew up immediately after being born.
Until you realize that it really sucks when society and humanity has it set up in a way that it becomes a need (perceived or not) for safety. That just tells you the system has failed.
Back is sore. Not in a bad way, but in an “I’m not doing OHP” way, so I’m just gonna do seated OHP most likely while I’m on this program.

Time: 33:30. Solid time PR for this run around. Not sure how much I’ll beat it tomorrow or the next day, but after my next swing break, I hope to dip under 30 that first workout back. Once again, sweat literally streams off my face every time I hinge, and the kettlebell is covered in so much sweat I need to wipe it down top to bottom with a rag. Still no chalk - I wipe it off between sets with my shirt but the slipperiness just means I have to hold on tighter.
Laid down in a pool of sweat afterwards and then did 100 crunches and some hip mobility stuff before picking myself up and stumbling out of the gym.
10K KB Swing: Workout 6
50 lb KB
Current total: 3000 swings
10-15-25-50 x5, goblet squats between sets
Time: 30:30. Another 3 minute PR, definitely primed to continue trending downwards.
Finished with 3x15 weighted decline situps holding a 25 plate superset with 3x20 rope crunches.
Tomorrow will be some chest work - a 5x5 on incline bench and a 5x10 on incline dumbbell, then some abs. Nice and simple.
Rest day from swings: Chest hypertrophy/abs

3x30 decline situps superset with 3x20 rope crunches
May or may not have had a mini-shart on my last rope crunch and had to run to the bathroom to make sure there was no dookie stain in my boxers. All clear, gents.
Post workout nutrition:
Shake with 2 scoops whey, 2 tbsp PBFit, half a frozen banana, ice, water
About 45 mins later
My wife only ate half her strip steak last night, which is fair because it was over a pound, so I had this ~1/2# piece (couldn’t help but eat half of it while the eggs were cooking) with 6 scrambled eggs and one piece of provolone cooked in with the eggs.
Alright Britney.
Here in Seattle, we save money on salmon by eating steelhead.
Never had steelhead. They seem to be pretty similar. How do they taste?
10K KB Swing: Workout 7
50 lb KB
Current total: 3500 swings
10-15-25-50 x5
Time: 24:40. Big PR. Was limited on time and had to do it in under 25 minutes. Funny how that works out, guess I was being a bit too gradual on my progression when I had all the time I wanted. I can’t say I’ll be able to replicate this tomorrow as my grip was already a bit weak and it is now completely trashed, typing is pretty difficult and I dropped my phone a few times after the workout. I definitely think I’ll hit a sub 20 time this go around.
Steelhead isn’t quite as fatty or flavorful. My wife sometimes roasts it with a sour cream glaze (cheaper than creme fraiche) which adds some of that fatty flavor. We have it almost every other Sunday.
I should add that Chinook/King Salmon season is peaking right now up here. I really need to treat myself to some of THAT.
All great men are called Dave and all greater men have it as their middle name!!
So good, they named a TV channel after us.
Lol…might have to add myself to the list of Dave’s…
