Personally, I think he’s in the right. No one needs that kind of shit at work.A trip to the doctor isn’t meant to be a feel good exercise.

Although harsh language, I would also be on the doctor’s side here.
However, the article insinuates that the patient was put on a waitlist for surgery, and then later removed after complaining. If that is actually the case, then I can’t really sympathize with the doctor on his action there. Something with accepting a patient for surgery and rejecting over something like that doesn’t sit right with me (IMO, he shouldn’t have accepted her in the first place if this is how he felt).
He should rant about fat people on here.
That way he could feel better and not get himself in trouble.
I wonder what had happened if Shugart were present.
Most people won´t listen anyways. Just tell them and if they reject your help do your job and watch the rest.
Everyone has to choose his poison.
Yelling at her did not convince her to diet. His temper tantrum did nothing constructive and got him in trouble. There is never a reason to behave like a 3 year old.

its the same as celebs getting annoyed eventually with paparazzi and fans, I’m sure the doctor just got sick of fat fucks rationalizing their fatness instead of confronting their pathetic willpower.
Did he yell at her?
The thing is hey may have said it in a semi-jokingly way, and it may not be as bad as it sounded or as bad as the woman made it out to be.
I mean, when I’m with my friends, it’s a compliment to be called ‘son of a bitch’
Also, if I’m wrong and he actually yealled, then I also say OK.
I saw this in the link as one of the responses I thought it pretty much summed up my beliefs on surgeries and fat asses
I always find it kind of interesting that many people have problems with diets not ‘working’ - it’s metabolism or hormones or genetic etc but when they have a gastric band limiting food input they miraculously loose weight
He should cite her weight as a complication which greatly increases risk of death while under anesthesia, then tell the fat fuck to go on a fucking diet.
That is one thing fat people refuse to understand. You anesthetize them and they die because the weight of their chest causes them to stop breathing while under, and it is your ass that gets slapped with a malpractice/wrongful death lawsuit.

She most certainly should have been struck off the waiting list.
If she isn’t capable of dieting now, she will only put the weight back on after the operation.
i dont think anyone can justify siding with the patient. Imagine a fat fuck of a “woman” waltzing in and when the doctor no doubt had a conversation about possibly going on a diet rather than doing an invasive surgery, cause obviously he wasnt just like “go on a fucking diet” as soon as he saw her. Then, the fat fuck has the audacity to tell you that she prefers “lifestyle” to “diet” and they don’t really work for her, how are you not going to lose your cool. I’m surprised he didn’t backhand her.
To gain weight, eat more. To lose weight, eat less.

He was scared she’d eat his hand
Got to be better than a punch to the face?

Head explodes
Seriously though, I’m all for telling her like it is, but there is a professional code of conduct to uphold IMO. No need to swear at patients.
I wonder if this guy posted in the “Mock the Obese” thread
HOLY SHIT MAK IS ALIVE!!!
A real life Dr House.
Man Aotearoa doesn’t have enough doctors, the last thing we need is to be punishing doctors over stupid and minute stuff.
On a converse note fuck bro life is too short eh. Grab a cold one, put on a hat and eat 'round the hangi in the sunshine. Noice…
Go the HurriCANES!
