Doc Wants to Increase Dose & Add AI - Lab Feedback Help

Hello. I just had my 6 week labs. I’ve been on 160mg test c per week, divided into 2 doses. Labs were taken at trough; 4 days after last injection. The only side effects I have experienced is a little acne and very oily skin, and obvious water retention. I had a lot of energy and crazy high libido for the first 4 weeks, then it stopped. Now energy and libido are normal (no ED).

The clinic wants to increase my dose to 180mg/wk and add anastrazole .5mg two days after each injection. Just wondering everyones thoughts; I know the general consensus is to lower dose or increase frequency; but my T levels are not very high and I’m already dosing twice a week. Is the AI worth it at this level and with my minimal sides?

Total testosterone: 715ng/dl (264-916)…pre-trt levels of 184 and 280
Estradoil: 59.9 pg/ml (7.6 - 42.6)…was 19 before starting TRT
SHBG: 24.6 nmol/L (16.5-55.9)…pre-trt level was 23.2

IMO you should be waiting longer to stabilize before making a change. I assume they are also wanting to raise what they are charging you?

It’s $10 for a couple month supply of the anastrazole.

another useless doc. I feel amazing on e2 60. why take this shit
also you need to know free T. my total is 500ng/dl on 200mg/week, no AI

They didn’t test anything this time except total t; estradiol, and SHBG.

I don’t feel amazing. But I don’t feel bad either. I don’t want to rank my e2; but also don’t want to let it keep going and develop gyno

Gyno is caused by an imbalance of many hormones, so E2 on its own doesn’t cause gyno, and if you never had gyno before, it’s likely you never will. You need a gene to be able to develop gyno.

You experienced the TRT honeymoon a lot of guys experience in the beginning, then things return to normal.

The water retention will likely subside in a couple of months after your body adjusts. My advice if your useless doctor offers you a DHT blocker for the ance, do NOT take it.

6 week in is very early in treatment to be expecting to feel like your old self again, give it 4-6 months.

Thanks for your input. I also agree that it seems to early for them to increase my dose and add in an AI. I feel like a trough of 715 is right where I want to be.

It feels like their more interested in profit than anything else. They probably do the same to everyone, at 6 weeks up the dosage and add an AI.

That’ll be 1mg a week of anastrazole. Thats a lot in my opinion. If taking it I’d suggest using 1/4mg twice per week but thats a big IF.

@systemlord was pretty spot on about the honeymoon period IMO. You can’t chase it as it’s only temporary. Most changes take several months to really set in. Your numbers appear more than adequate on a trough day. Your doc sounds like a pill pusher for profit. Either advocate for yourself or steer clear.
