Do You Support the War?

bottom line: We had the chance to become the most popular nation on earth but we blew it. Everyone wanted to help us after 9/11.

We instead decide to oust a dictator.

This pre emptive strike shit is bs. Saddam was convicted of thought crime. ooooo…weeee… there are plenty more that want us dead…the best we can do is fortify our national defense. Besides, if we fall, it will be from within anyways.

Also, where the fuck is bin laden? we should have hired the Israelis to hunt him down and kill him on monday night football.

Just my 2 cents.

Bin Laden is not their concern, nor could they ever stage their army anywhere outside Isreal like we can. THAT would be the start of all hell breaking loose.
The U.S. is pretty much in a position of making anything we want be Isreal’s concern. Also, they did not have to stage their military anywhere to systematically eradicate those responsible for the 72 Olympic attacks.

I am talking about Iraq.

The more I learn about the history of our wars, and why we go to war (9/11, pearl harbor, gulf of tonkin), details about this current war, etc. The harder it becomes to support war.

The SOF agreement was just the icing on the cake. They want us gone–yet we want to stay.

What members support this war–and why?

EDIT: ItemFix - Social Video Factory

War is necessary to societies to keep people supporting the State. War is a unifying factor provided that war fervor and support can be maintained.

Liberal democracies fall eventually because a permanent state of war can’t be maintained, and there really is no substitute for war in creating a common cause for the populace. The country dissolves into warring groups. This is why tyranny is mankind’s ideal form of government.

Only by having a world government that has planned regional wars can order be maintained. There are so many benefits to planned wars as to make the demise of war not very likely anytime soon.

So yes, I support the war. I prefer order to anarchy.

supposedly. Although there is just too much evidence to ignore that says this wasnt the case.

I wouldn’t go to NY and say that.
I don’t want to believe it either.

Whether I like it or not, war is one of the only ways of keeping the human population from going out of control and using up all resources and destroying this race as we know it.

The troops in Iraq have a job to finnish, Iraq cannot be simply dumped on it’s own now with suicide attacks happening every other week. And as far as I can tell from reports the troops want to finish the job.

50 percent of people in baghdad say their lives are better now than when under Husein.

BTW I’m pretty sure that the IRA and the KKK don’t use mosques as basses for attacks.

Iraq is no threat to us, Afghanistan is. Continuing to dump billions into a country with a $5 billion surplus of oil money is ridiculous. Eventually, the US will have to cut their losses, but Bush and his cowboy mentality have prevented that.

Ok then, tell me how long it would take for Iran to take it over, or the Taliban? It’s like trying to part water.

If we move out, they will move in, plain and simple…and untill we actually fight a REAL FUCKING WAR and erraticate them all…the way it should be done, this won’t stop.

do you ever ask yourself “WHY DO THEY HATE ME !? WHY DO THEY HATE US !?”

I could give a rip about what anyone else thinks of the USA. Since when was diplomacy a poplularity contest? The more we cater to others, the weaker we become.

some one said something about how individuals would run the war,

napalm and a few ginormous american refineries doubt anyone would care if gas was cheap enough, i mean we are evil people right.

but we are nice people

which is it.

HH is a troll, but at least he shows some signs of intelligence and occasional reason.

Rainman is a dick, but at least he’s a functional intelligent dick.

You, on the other hand, are just a fucking idiot, with no real redeeming qualities or signs of intellect.

The war to extinguish the Christian population in Iraq? No, I don’t think it was worthy.

Edit: I single out Christians only to illustrate the nagging problem of unintended consequences.

I’ve always wondered what it would be like to live in the 19th century. Could you please describe it for me?

Whatever happens, we have got, the Maxim-gun and they have not.

I was always against it from the start. They never had ICBMs to get their so-called WMD to America, so they were never a direct threat to us in the first place. I always thought that we had better things to do with our tax dollars than to fight a massive war against a country who wasn’t a threat.

If Bush had just stopped at Afghanistan (which I did support) after putting Bin Laden’s head on a stick, he would have probably been one of the most popular presidents ever. But instead he dragged our troops and financial resources into a police keeping mission.

The Taliban?! A rural Pashtun insurgency over a thousand miles away is going to take over Iraq? Wow.
Thank you for stating the obvious. Anyone who thinks the Taliban was going to takeover Iraq should probably stroll over to Wikipedia rather than hanging out around here.

You don’t think what others think about a country (or individual) has anything to do with diplomacy, huh?
