I mean at most, it’s like half of the population, right? Even if you wanna go higher… That’s a pretty easy weed-out percent. And if he’s online dating, the woke-ness will be readily apparent, and avoidable from the start. I just don’t see a reason to interact with the woke-folk if one doesn’t particularly want to. If our friend unreal is going on dates with people who fall into that category, that’s a swiping problem, lol.
Also my immediate reaction there, lol. You can’t switch units in the same fucking sentence (although I’m also aware he’s not a 150kg human).
Agree, and I don’t think there are many “men” that truly believe in this narrative either. I think this is mostly teenagers who have yet to experience a loving relationship with a girl. Personally, I don’t think there are many women who end up fitting the “Karen looking for a cuck” narrative either - but must be enough for a stereotype to have stuck so
That depends on age and location of dating pool, I imagine. The 30-40 year old female crowd in my politically purple area is plenty diverse.
The 20-25 crowd in a liberal stronghold will probably have quite a bit of woke. Probably quite a bit more than half.
If you’re a young fella in San Francisco looking for a conservative gal who is into reloading her own ammo, killing her own chickens and wants to home school the seven children you’re planning, well, good luck finding her at the local bar scene.
I figured these are probably overdue… (pulled from my memes thread)
I think as long as you are lifting more than your girl, they probably dont give 2 shits how much you’re lifting. Of course, this implies that your girl lifts, but if she doesn’t - why are you dating her anyways (sarcasm, kind of)?
I love the sound of death metal/hardcore, doesn’t mean I buy into a good chunk of the lyrical content. (Some) of it is anger for the sake of anger, whereas some songs provide thought provoking political commentary. Death metal has the word “death” in it… what do we expect such bands to be talking about?
It is common for metal to predominantly cover the lowest of the low, the most negative elements of society. The world isn’t comprised of Sunshine and rainbows, so I don’t necessarily have an issue with that.
As to aggressive music… say I’m going in for a sparring day (combat sports) and I’m going to be getting punched, kicked, kneed and thrown around for sixty minutes while I’ll also be doing the same to others… what music would I preferably choose on my way to the place to warm up?
It’s not going to be choir music or classical music. Some of these places actually do play hardcore/metal while these sessions are going on.
My music taste is also something I don’t bring up to women. When asked I typically answer broadly. “I like rock, a bit of punk and metal”. When pressed further I’ll typically refer to old school classic rock, old punk bands like dead Dead Kennedies and old metal like Judas Priest.
“I like cattle decapitation, toxic holocaust and annihilator” freaks people out.
Yes, to an extent. There are even specific songs. But I don’t now, which shows how fleeting much of this is. I will not listen to any rebellious music now—none.
I think I get it. You’re saying young people latch onto concepts and ideas regardless of whether they actually believe in them or not in effort to ‘find themselves’ and have a sense of identity
But if you’re latching onto a concept or a set of beliefs it should be genuine… not an attempt to fit in with the kool kidz.
I’ve been into rock, punk and metal since I was seven @BrickHead. I don’t see this being a phase. And yes… my parents did try to shut it down numerous times, not that it helped.
The answer was procuring an MP3 player and downloading songs from the internet.
I think girls who lift are far more likely to care about how muscular a man is or how much they can lift
Being lean and looking healthy certainly helps. But from what I’ve seen men don’t need to look like bodybuilders to do well with women… otherwise most extremely attractive women would be dating bodybuilders…
Maybe your problem is that these women have no idea who you are, and no way to pin it down:
Woman: “What kind of X do you enjoy?”
Unreal: Drops eye contact, answers vaguely
Woman: “What do you think of X?”
Unreal: Drops eye contact, answers vaguely
Woman: “What are you looking for?”
Unreal: Drops eye contact, answers vaguely
Woman: “Yeah, listen, I’m…woke…but thanks for having a drink with me.”
Also happy to answer “Nicki Minaj isn’t my cup of tea, but each to their own”.
The metal stuff does freak people out. At least in Australia it did. Not sure about UK/various Scandinavian countries where this music is far more common
IME, not that important, but I have noticed more attention when I am lean and actually can’t lift as much as when I am a bit softer.
So on the extreme end, they would on average prefer you to lift less. Meaning a not shredded but lean athletic look with muscle beats the full powerlifter look.
I actually had a girl ask me how much I was lifting yesterday. But this chick is pretty strong. She was doing banded deadlifts with about 250 lbs bar weight, and maybe 30 lbs of band tension for sets of 5. She also benched, and from what I saw, she was doing about 175 for singles, and 155 for sets of 5. So not your typical girl at the gym.
Facially, one tends to look healthier when lean. Looking like the Michelin Man is cool… but you’ll have the facial aesthetics of an obese individual.
If we are talking strictly the metric “how much can you lift?”
Most girls absolutely don’t care. I’d assume the attractive portion of the “I can lift a lot” is that it proves you are committed to a goal, you’ve got a hobby you’re quite dedicated towards.
People who don’t go to the gym have no idea as to what benching 315 means other than “that sounds like a big number!”
If we cross over and talk about the physique that can be acquired through lifting weights… most women would prefer a man looks strong, lean and healthy. But this doesn’t mean you need to be able to bench 315… or even 225 for that matter
Looking like Ryan Gosling in crazy, stupid love is probably the ideal physique that most women would like… but then again, what do I know?
I hold all my fat in my abdomen and face. It is unfortunate.
IMO, it’s one of the genetic qualities that is often overlooked for bodybuilding. Some guys look great in the face and have abs at 18%, other’s need to be 12%. But the guy that can have abs and a lean face at 18%, also will on average have bigger arms and legs, cause he stores fat there. Just easier for proportions to look good.
But I can have crazy quad, arm, lat, shoulder veins with a pot belly and a fat face.
Bulking is sad for me too. Doing it now. Up about 20 lbs, and never hungry. I want to eat less. I look worse. I probably won’t do many bulks again, but I have some goals I want to hit (405 bench mostly). After that, it will be time to slim down.
