Do People Mess with You More Because You're Big?

Good on you for moving past that.

I joke about it a lot because I put myself in a situation to experience bar fuckery, but it really doesn’t matter where you experience fuckery. It’s all fuckery. How you react to it is the important part.

I used to be at the bar a lot. Was part of a MC for years and we’re still family. I moved away. Now, if I go to the bar it’s for two drinks max and I’m never there after dark unless it’s an expensive place where that sort of fuckery tends to not happen.

Got any good biker fight stories? I’ve always been curious about the circumstances that lead to anyone fighting a group of patched up guys in a bar…

By my count I’ve had three different 1 percenter patches flown on my shifts. They were all very cool and even compliant when I asked one of the HA affiliates to stow his fixed blade. I won’t lie, I was always on-edge with OMC’s in the bar, but their conduct was always totally fine. Of course, nobody decided to start a problem either…

I’ve known guys like that and it’s all about respect. You show them respect, you get it right back. Disrespect any one of them however…,you’re F’d. We were a big club, we were just a bunch of crazy, young assholes. Nothing like these serious 1%’ers. We got into a fight with some one night at a strip club. Little did we know, they owned the strip club. A new guy was way too drunk and decided to flip the mint dish on the way out (they had one by the door). The head bouncer comes out (think 6’10” 350lbs) enraged. Bellows “Who the hell did that???”. My buddy goes, “I did MF’er”. He wasn’t even the one who flipped the dish. Bouncer was an amazing boxer. One punch knocked him out and two of my buddies. As this was happening, about 12 of ‘em came out the side door, snuck between the cars in the parking lot and for each of us, there was at least 1-2 people behind us we didn’t even know about. This bouncer starts kicking the shit out of my buddy. We start to rush in, a couple of people got knifed in the ribs, I got a zima bottle cracked over my head. Never saw it coming. If you remember how thick those bottles were… I come to and a couple of guys were standing over me. They were cool enough not to keep F’ing me up while I was out. My friend comes to, stands up and gathers himself. Then, climbs on top of a concrete planter box about 3ft high, looks down on those bastards and says fuck you, then spits in their face (about five of them ). They yank him down, I’m yelling at him to chill the fuck out, we’re clearly outmatched and drunk as hell. He starts fighting. Knocked out again, this time he takes a savage beating. Jaw broken to hell, nose looks like a crushed tomato. Cops show up, the manager peels off a few 100’s and then the cop tells us to get the fuck out of there. I take him to the ER and call his wife (a nurse). She’s pregnant and pissed off.

Had a couple of friends die doing stupid shit…all on motorcycles. We eventually chilled out as we got older and people kept dying.

While not something I want to be a part of, it’s something I can at least understand. I can only judge the interactions I’ve had, which have been surprisingly positive. Nobody flying colors has ever made my night harder than it needed to be.

I can’t say I was friends with anyone who died like this, but I’ve known more than a few from being a bouncer.

That was definitely a good biker fight story. The worst I ever encountered was a 5 on 1 beatdown involving five bikers and some dipshit who didn’t know when to shut up or quit. Nobody in an MC, just some local yahoos getting their rocks off.

Of course, all of this nonsense is easily avoidable…

Pretty much I was 130 lbs freshman year. Now i’m 190 something and it’s my senior year of highschool now.

Hell of a story

The sheer amount of times I get asked every day makes me feel violent

I hear you, but you have to realize there’s something everyone needs to know about you.

Can you dunk?

In a game?

You’ve had people die from bouncing? I’d be interested in hearing about it.

No that’s not what I’m saying. I didn’t use enough words to convey the idea before. I’m saying I’ve known motorcyclists who’ve died on their motorcycles. Not as friends, but as bouncing acquaintances and people who I have fond memories of.

Hook hook dunk dunk
Baby im all about 3 points

Some great stories in here guys, thanks for sharing. I’ve never had this issue being on the shorter side of life but have seen plenty of this when I worked in pubs as a youngster. But I have always found that awareness is the key. In most cases it is not hard to spot the drunk who’s had one too many, or the loud mouth kid who’s out to impress, or the guy who girlfriend dumped him and is just pissed at the world. Early intervention always seems to be the best plan and asking people to kindly leave before it gets out of hand works best.

People ask ME that. I’m 6’3-4. I have to be like “remember Jason Kidd? Little white guy scurrying around out there? Yeah, he’s 6’4 too. That’s small for the NBA.”

And a few less. I was sorry to read about your firefighters.

I’ve only made comment to someone when they were truly ridiculously big, like genetically, a total unit.

For example a random dude I’ve never seen at the gym before…I had to ask if he played in the NFL, because he was just that much of a monster. He was a jacked Terrell Owens.

You really don’t realize how nothing you are, physically, until you’re next to an NFL level athlete.

Genetic lottery+AAS. woooooweeeeeee

Fully understand. I opted for sleeping with strippers and amateur porn stars, instead of fighting.

Fighting would have been been less harmful, long term, I think.

I’ve got a GOOD friend from the Sandbox with extreme PTSD rage issues who has stayed with me a couple of times, I’ve given multiple jobs over the years (good, six figure, jobs in the oilfield).

Something would go wrong and he’d just completely go apeshit on the hands and they’d quit, so I have had to let him go (a couple of times) with promises to rehire when he gets his life together.

You just accidentally encouraged me to call him and check on him. He’s an actual hero.

Fuck yeah. I’d do anything for a fellow veteran as well.

It really puts into perspective the size and athleticism of these guys who make the players who are in the 6ft4/6 range look like regular sized guys

Check out people next to Brian Shaw or Eddie Hall…
