Do I lean bulk or cut more?

Ideal body fat percent is right now. Not sure what I’d be. But should I lean bulk or cut more? I’m 5’10 scale was 163.8 I started at 169.7 3 weeks back, mini cut and an aggressive one. Tbh I’d like my max body fat to be say 15 percent? So not sure if I should cut more to give more runway. Sorry don’t have any other recent photos at the moment. Also open to other suggestions if I should use a different approach to pack on muscle

I would want to be much larger in this situation.

I don’t like to use the word “bulk” as an approach to pack on muscle. What I did was make sure that I was getting sufficient protein, that is more than 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight. I would like closer to 1.5 grams per pound of body weight, especially in the condition that you presently have. I did that with 6 meals per day. I would not consider less than 4 meals per day as safe if you want to gain muscle while staying in the condition that you have now.

You want to stay about 10% body fat to assure that you can be anabolic. [edit: I need to clarify that I meant not to get lower than 10%.] Just focus on getting stronger on all compound lifts. If you are not getting stronger, add some carbohydrates. (Understand that you should be getting fats through lean meats, eggs, and fish oil.)

Don’t allow yourself to get into the condition that you believe that you need to “cut” (unless it is for a Bodybuilding contest.) Always have a beach ready physique.

What do you mean like bulked up? I was 183

I started one last week but didn’t get a response but I haven’t been sure what to do.

I mean being more muscular. I would not want to be that size. I’m 1” shorter than you and would not be comfortable at that weight.

Yes hence why I’m asking if I cut more. I’m only 18 and this is the lightest I’ve been in a long long time. I don’t like being small so I think lean bulk tbh.

That 5 lbs will be undone in 20 minutes if you have a large Chipotle burrito, some chips and salsa, and a couple glasses of water.

I’d listen to what RT_Nomad and T3hPwnisher say.

Yep I will. Thank you. I know a lot of it is glycogen and carbs prob a little fat

I shoot for gaining .25%-.50% of your bodyweight per week this rate of gain is a very reasonable amount that will help mitigate unnecessary fat gain. I think starting at a surplus of 10% over maintenance is a good starting point and you can adjust based on your rate of gain
