I’ve seen these guys on flights to KSA for the Hajj. Conscious that their beards are paler they try to overcompensate that by treating women at the airport terminal like shit - pushing them, yelling and so forth. They don’t have that “you’re an inanimate object” mindset actual Saudis display towards women.

You’re trying to make sense of the nonsensical my man. A troll doesn’t have to be someone who is faking what they believe just to get a rise out of people. It can also be someone who wants to fight over stuff just because they want to fight over stuff.
Neither are conducive to discussion that moves the needle and in my experience you aren’t going to tire any of them out or hit them with a logic bomb and make them change.
IMO, the guy just thought he is smarter than he really is. Because of that, he defended his positions as strongly as he could. Just my read on the guy.
A socialist here once posted a link to a very interesting paper that showed Sweden’s marked improvement after financial deregulation and privatization of various government services thinking it was arguing against them.
Why? Because he’s a socialist of the Marxist-Leninist variety and socialists generally aren’t very bright or they wouldn’t be socialists.
It was pretty compelling. Can’t remember the title, though.

I’m not even sure it’s accurate to call it THE Nordic Model now since these countries do not operate the same way even though there are lots of similarities.
Denmark is essentially a State Capitalist country that has economic policies very similar to China’s.
It’s also interesting to note that one of the differences in their social policies is that China does NOT have Universal Healthcare.

These fuckers will allow a jobless guy to obtain 5 credit cards from different banks and people have been speculating in property and stocks for over a decade to the point where the property prices in places like Shenzhen have gone up to over 10 times their original value while some average citizens ended up losing millions when the oil prices went negative last year and the banks put out an arbitrary stop loss.
Does this sound anything like socialism to you?
It still doesn’t stop them from using it for political purposes as some kind of “unifying ideal” to appeal to the masses AND to justify a one party system.

“Socialism with Chinese Characteristic” was essentially Deng Xiaoping saying, “Fuck this socialist bullshit!” after the Cultural Revolution while gradually privatizing several sectors without getting to the point where fuckheads had an excuse to call him a counter revolutionary.

If they aren’t socialist, is what Bernie proposing really socialist? After all, he is proposing their model, right?
I was under the assumption that he/they still want a capitalist society, where private initiative is fully encouraged but also with universal healthcare, education, paid vacation, maternal/parental leave, etc.
Basically like a good number of European countries, not just Nordic ones.

As to the question in the thread title, there are some who join PEGIDA and others who attended a huge rally in support of the victim family. The rally drew thousands, I take it at least a fair number are Christians.

Pediga has been and is associated with nationalism, anti semitism etc. They’re a far right movement founded on fighting against Islamic extremism. That alone is a fantastic concept… Some of the other shit they preach is insane
