Also they are calling for -23C feeling like -32 this Friday evening…stay tuned for some icicle chin ups!! Also 20cm of snow expected on Sunday so will be some good shoveling cardio!!
I assume you will be keeping with tradition.
You know it!!! ![]()
Excellent.
Have not made it to the gym in the last couple of days but have been doing 20KG KB swings at home, 100 reps total each day last 2 days.
Saturday morning chin ups…was -18C feeling like -24…I was not smart enough to wear gloves…thought my fingers were going to fall off ![]()
Todays chin ups were a different battle! Earlier in the day the snow was up to my thighs! Spent the rest of the day shoveling! Couldn’t even get to the backyard when I came out later.
Just Keep Moving! Almost forgot..
I see you got a tiny bit of snow…
When the time comes, we are sending you to fight the Russians.
Hahah love this!
So funny you say that…I saw some video of some Russian’s doing cold plunges in Siberia in -52C weather… we may be screwed..![]()
Had a good 2 hours of shoveling this morning…trying to get as much done as possible before work because I know my dad will want to shovel and it worries me!
Been super busy these days with my son’s birthday. Celebrating two different times to accommodate both sides of the family was a lot of fun but also a lot of driving and work! Was all worth it as he had the best time! ![]()
Have been getting some lifting in and a lot more running so I’m really happy with how that is going, I wasn’t as out of shape running wise as I feared.
Although the super high volume, bodybuilding style work was fun I have transitioned back to Tactical barbell, Fighter program!
Made myself a pretty simple 14 week running program it will be 3 days running (1 tempo day, 1 shorter run and 1 long run), 2 days lifting. Signing up for that half marathon on May 3, 2026.
Will post the whole program outline later today.
Got in a solid 8km (5 mile) run today, felt great! Calves were sore today though.
Got my Fighter lifting day in early this morning as well.
KB Swings
48KG x 6 sets x 12 reps
Power Squat
540lbs x 1 set x 5 reps
450 x 4 sets x 5 reps
Dropped down the weight as I am supposed to have a day off between my long run and lifting day but needed to get it in today.
Chin Ups
BW (235lbs) x 5 sets x 5 reps
DB KB OHP
20KG x 5 sets x 5 reps
Still can’t get to my pull up bar in the backyard…snow is still past my hips back there!
Just Keep Moving!
Likely excuse. ![]()

I will need to swim back there to get a photo for you!! haha
Awww no need to put your life and toes in danger. Lol. I believe you.
I have no doubt if it was possible, you would be the person to make it happen.
February 4, 2026 - Just Keep Moving!
Another easy run in the books this morning!
35 minutes at 5mph with 5 minutes each walking for warm up and cool down.
Below is my program I had ChatGPT help me build. I have already done 1.5 weeks of it but the original one didn’t have my lifting day information in it so I re-did it today.
It has 2 easy runs, 1 tempo day and 1 long run day along with 2 days lifting using Tactical Barbell Fighter. (Power Squat, DB KB OHP, Pull ups and Sumo Deadlifts as my main lifts).
The Sunday easy run is most likely going to be dropped or will try to get to it when I can as weekends are usually pretty busy with the family so i will be super happy if I stay consistent with the long runs on the weekend.
Really excited to see how this goes as my first couple of runs have felt better than anticipated so I can’t wait to break some distance PRs as I haven’t run over 15 km (~9.3miles) ever in one go.
If anyone sees any huge red flags or flaws in the program let me know as I haven’t done something like this in the past so I’m hoping my recovery will be good. Switched to primarily early morning sessions.
Just Keep Moving!
Told my self I had to log back in today and keep my log alive!!
Run program has been going great so far! Really been enjoying the long runs. Taking a slower pace makes a HUGE difference…in the past I was always just setting the treadmill to 6.5mph+ and powering through 30 minutes and dying. Doing some long runs at 5 mph is amazing and actually enjoyable, makes me feel like I can go on forever.
Just got some new shoes that were on a crazy sale I couldn’t pass up.
Adizero SL 2 for $58! All the reviews say they are great so I’m excited to get some KMs in them when they arrive.
I have been keeping up with lifting 2 x per week just doing TB Fighter protocol but adjusted the hack squat numbers down a bit to save my legs for the runs. Nothing exciting numbers wise so kind of lost the motivation to log on here. I will get back to it!
Feeling good about the Transformation challenge! (Don’t know how to tag it).
February 17, 2026 - Tactical Barbell Fighter + Half Marathon
Easy Run - 40 minutes, 5mph treadmill - 5.3km (did this in the evening, lifted early morning) Weather is terrible today so won’t be making it to the gym so I doubled up yesterday!
KB Swings
48kg x 6 sets x 12 reps
Power Squat
360 x 5 reps
500 x 4 sets x 5 reps
Chin Ups
BW (235) x 5 sets x 5 reps
DB KB OHP
24kg x 5 sets x 5 reps
DB Stiff Leg Deadlifts
65lbs DBs x 5 sets x 10 reps
Feel like I need more hamstring work as my quads are getting hammered on the runs. I will continue with adding the SLDL and will probably just do 3 working sets of hack squat moving forward.
Just Keep Moving!
February 19, 2026 - Long Run (7 Miles/11.2 KM)
New shoes arrived, I was hyped. My calves were a little bit tight but I rolled my feet and did some walking lunges and bunny hops to warm up and got on the treadmill.
7 Miles was on the plan for this week. Decided to get my long run in last night and will get my second lift session in tomorrow.
Did 6 miles at 5 mph and felt good, new shoes were comfy even on first run which I’m happy about. Last mile I upped it to 6.5 mph bc I just wanted to finish asap as it was getting late.
All in all super happy as it was my longest run on a treadmill!
Just Keep Moving!
