I have no old pictures of me at 285. But here is a pair of shorts that used to be tight on me.
Nice work! Congratz on workin down from 285. That pic of the old shorts tells quite a story.
Today is my last WO in week2 of OVT and I am absolutly lovin it. I really like how its designed and the pumps during/sorness after are some painful pleasure. Too bad I dont have the $$ to make my nutrition spot on. How do you feel the its working for you???
Just curious how you’d rate your DOMS so far?
… I can understand you puking on leg day. I personally cut back the volume to 4 lifts on leg day. After the squat/lunge combo im almost dead. Keep up the progress.

Thanks a lot. Much appreciated.
As for my opinion on the OVT program, I couldn’t be happier with it. I have always liked Thibs’ philosophies, but after a few weeks of this program, I am beginning to suspect he is a sadist with pain on the brain. I love this guy, he gets results. Looking forward to his next program.
As for the DOMS, I will admit that I am still sore 3 days after my leg day. I mean, the OVT leg day is one of the more brutal workouts available on this site. Soreness for the other days are mild. Nothing like the pain in my legs. I love it.
Thanks for stopping by, good luck to you good sir! Your training log is one of the more amazing records of transformation I have seen on this site. I recommend to anyone else reading this to take a look at it.

Good to hear back from you. Thanks for the compliments.
Since I stopped my incline walking, I have gained another 10 pounds. Looks like I need to take my own advice and get back on the treadmill. I admit it is tough to do it while on this program due to the intensity, but I am only interested in an extremely clean bulk.
Keep up your hard work Newbie, I enjoy reading your logs man. Thanks for the inspiration.
Getting a grip on the midsection before it sinks in…
Woke up: 1 hour jog around the new neighborhood.
Gym 5 hours later: 55 minutes max incline 4.5mph walk.
Leg pain wasn’t nearly as bad as it has been after leg day.
I might start implementing a morning jog more often. It seems to be the best way to wake up.

OVT (Day 27, November 21st)
Shoulders:
A1. Push Press 201 Tempo
A2. 1-Arm Lateral Raise 602 Tempo

B1. Standing Dumbbell Shoulder Press 201 Tempo
5x5x45
B2. Barbell Front Raise 602 Tempo

5x5x165
D2.Bent Over 1 Arm DB Rows 5x5 602 Tempo
5x5x55
Back felt a little tight, and I was exhausted. My grip starting weakening during the bent over BB rows. Otherwise, great workout. I threw in a whole smattering of core/ab work between sets. This is probably why I was cooked going into the last set.
Monday is day 1 of the second OVT set. I am very happy with the first 4 weeks of this program, and the results are in line with my goals. Couldn’t be happier.
OVT Set 2 (Day 1, Nov 26th)
I have been sick for the past few days. I tried to make it to the gym yesterday, but I had to swallow some pride and stay down. This is the longest I have been out of the gym.
Front Squats:
5x5x135
Back Squats:
5x5x235
PR for 5x5 back squats. No cheating! Deep deep squats.
Incline Leg Press:
5x5x360
Leg Curl:
5x5x195
Hamstrings are ablaze. DOMS might kill me.
Deadlift 201 Tempo:
5x5x225
Deadlift 602 Tempo:
5x5x185
I tried the 1-legged deadlifts. I am going to need to either do these first in the routine, or choose a different 602 exercise. Legs were too shakey to keep proper balance for the correct tempo.
Good to be back in the gym. I have put on a great deal of mass since the start of this program. Up to 202 lbs and 12.1% BF so I have made some decent lean mass gains.
OVT Set 2 (Day 2, Nov 27th)
Arms:
EZ Bar Curls:
5x5x60
Zottman Seated Curls:
5x5x20
Scaling back feels like the right thing to do. I definately feel the zottmans are going to be extremely effective in increasing arm strength.
Preacher Curls:
5x5x45
Cable Curls:
5x5x25
Dips 201 Tempo:
5x5x40
Dips 602 Tempo
5x5xBW
I chose to keep dips in this set. I like how the 602 tempos felt.
1-Arm Cable Pressdowns:
5x5x22.5
Triangle Pushups:
5x5x15
Cable Pressdowns:
5x5x60
Core:
Wood Chops:
5x20x35
Garhammer Raises
5x10
Seated Crunches:
5x20x65
18 minutes max incline 4.4 mph walk.
Feeling good. My abs are pushing through even though I am slowly increasing bf. Not that I am too concerned with abs at this point, but it seems all of the extra fat is residing in my sides. Definately going to trim that shit out.
OVT Set 2 (Day 5, Nov 30th)

The past few days have been party/no sleep/extra-ciricular cardio type of days… if you know what I mean.
Getting back on track, I’ll be eliminating partying for a while.
I’ll be doing chest/back and core work in the morning tomorrow, and will be doing an hour of cardio tomorrow night.

5x185
5x225
5x275
4x285
2x295
1x315 (PR, 3 plates, fuck yes)
Not sure why I broke from the program in the third set. I was really feeling deadifts today and just went for it.
There was an older bodybuilder lifting in the power rack next to me. You could tell this guy was just old school hardcore. He was as happy as I was when I put 315 all the way up. Surprisingly, I did not have trouble with a double overhand grip.
Sleep… gym in the morning.
OVT Set 2 (Day 8, Dec 3rd)
Arms:
Zottman Seated Curls: 201 Tempo
5x5x30

5x5x25
Triangle Pushups:
5x5x15
Cable Pressdowns:
5x5x60
26 minutes max incline 4.4 mph walk.
Light ab work tonight.
Definately taking tomorrow off. I have not been spacing the days out due to an insatiable drive to be in the gym.

C1. Seated Cable to Neck 201 Tempo
5x5x90
C2. Seated Cable to Neck 602 Tempo
5x5x60
SCREEEEEEAMING. Shoulders got lit up. Keeping this in the rest of set 2.

10x115
10x105

Kept this approximate for about 3 full sets.
Side Raises:
5x50x45
I feel like I am hitting my stride now. Weight is going up easier, endurance is increasing. I was looking at the pics I took a few weeks ago, and I can’t believe how much physical progress I have made since then. New pics coming soon.

In the middle of of my low incline chest set, I had this cute little girl bring me a Dasani water and told me I looked like I needed a drink. Shit like that never happens in the gym, and all I could say was, “Hey, I appreciate it” and then went back into my routine.
Idiot.
Or badass… Not sure which yet.

Definitely the latter. If females are bringing you water, instead of you taking them water, then more power to you. And Dasani, no less, because it wasn’t from the water fountain.
I guess a side effect of OVT is picking up girls, as well as packing on mass. It’s obviously working.
Nice work so far on the plan, looks like you are really pushing yourself and it’s paying off.
