Hey guys. I need 1/8 of a adex 2 x weekly. Its really a pain in the ass to get it accurate with the pill cutter.
So I tried this: i put 1 ml vodka in 1ml syringe.
Then i put the tablet in the syringe with the vodka and waited for it to dissolve.
Problem is after it dissolved it wasn’t 1 ml anymore. Almost 0.4 ml. So how do I make sure i get 1/8 of 1 mg in a syringe.
I really hate alcohol and want as little as possible of it
On Amazon i saw 1 ml droppers. Would that be easier?
Has anyone tried to weight the adex with a mg scale. I would then just weight 1/8 of the powder and put in my tongue right?
Btw i am living in stone age europe No compounded pharmacies here;-(
Where do I get such graduated cylinder? Amazon?
You mean i should crush the pill in a glass, put 1 ml vodka, and when I draw it up through the syringe and i see it’s not 1 ml anymore just take more vodka so that i have exakt 1 ml inside?
Is something like this better than a syringe?
Good idea with the graduated cylinder. Would make it so much easier!
I could just fill it with 1 ml vodka. Put the pill 1-2 days before I need it in the cylinder. It will dissolve by itself right? ( Or better crush it in the cylinder?)
Then after it dissolved i would put more vodka inside until i have 1 ml.
But isn’t a syringe as accurate as a cylinder?
I would only use a dropper if you make your solution very weak. How close do you think you could get with that dropper to 0.125 mg if your solution is 1 mg/mL? Do you think it would be easier to dose if your solution is 0.25 mg/mL?
With the former (1 mg/mL), you would be under the first tick on the dropper, and you are going to have to eyeball and compensate for the tapered vessel. With the later (0.25 mg/mL), you can fill it to the 0.5 mL mark, which should be a lot easier.
Main point: Make your solution less strong if you want to use a dose like 0.125 mg. I’d go 0.25 mg/mL or even 0.125 mg/mL. I’d do this with both the dropper and the syringe.
Another tip: It is easier to dose small amounts with a smaller syringe or smaller dropper. Almost everyone will be closer to dosing 0.5 mL accurately with a 1 mL syringe vs a 3 mL syringe.
Those pills weigh more than 1 mg because of filler, and also a 1 mg pill would be so small it would be tough to handle.
If you crush up your 1 mg pills, and then mix with ethanol (vodka for example), it will make a solution (since adex is soluble in ethanol). The filler material probably isn’t soluble, and will sink to the bottom (you can filter, or use gravity to your advantage to remove the filler). If you make your solution this way, you can use the formula.
Concentration = number of pills / number of mL of ethanol (vodka)
That will give you your solution’s concentration in mg/mL. This assumes you have standard 1 mg pills. So if you were to mix 1 pill with 4 mL of vodka, you would have a 1/4 = 0.25 mg/mL solution. Then to dose 0.125 mg, you would take your desired dose divided by the concentration or 0.125 mg / 0.25 mg/mL = 0.5 mL.
Ah now i see. Ok will definitely try it that way.
The only reason I didn’t want to go higher than 1 ml was because I don’t like vodka/alcohol and i an afraid it will change my mood if i drink to much of it. But such small doses won’t do harm.
I figured going into the volume change due to adding the adex was too much detail, and would be confusing. I’d be happy just adding 4 mL of vodka and be okay if my solution was between 0.24-0.26 mg/mL haha, not that the pill is likely dose accurately enough to be in that range anyways.
You are correct though, just thought I’d keep it simple. Keeping things simple is something to be careful with though. It can lead to incorrect beliefs.
If you go to 0.25 mg/mL, you would need two 0.5 mL doses a week to get the 0.125 mg dose twice.
To put this in another way, in a week you would have approximately 2% of one standard drink.
Yes, a little shot is allowed. It’s the amount of spirit that’s the crux though.
“They asked him: how much alcohol should we consume?
He took a big glass and did not drink from it. He said: this should be enough for all of us and gave it to the man on his right. He took a sip and gave it to the man on his right. As it passed through his gym bro disciples, veins were poppin and the gains were showin.
He said: this is the ritual you should follow before stepping on stage.”
Arnold did the ritual perfectly, unlike his opponent on stage who drank too much beforehand. Beware of the devil who wants you to drink or inject many more milliliters than necessary.
hey guys. i just made the liquid adex. and i mixed it with 2 ml vodka. so 1 mg adex in 2 ml vodka. in the example above iron_yuppie says 2 ml would mean 0,25 is 0.125=1/8 adex. But isnt 0,25 ml 0,25 mg?? 0.5mg/ml done with my math would be 0.25mg/0.25 ml.
Or i am just plain stupid
The concentration is how many mg of drug divided by the solvent. In your case 1mg divided by 2 ml. So 0.5 mg/ml. If you take 0.25 ml you get 0.25 ml x 0.5 mg/ml. The ml unit cancelled out. .25 x .05 is 0.125 (mg).
We all had to learn how to do this stuff. Most of us probably in chemistry class.
Iirc, Ronnie had to learn this from Flex Wheeler. Iirc, it was actually quite a bit of vodka the night before the show (4-6 shots). The video of Ronnie talking about learning this is pretty funny.
