Disposable Phones

I need a disposable phone and was wondering if they come with a phone number/ can receive phone calls. I am looking at the specs of different models and it makes no mention of it.

You a drug dealer?

I was wondering how many people would respond before getting asked that.

Yes, before I had an unlocked iPhone I use to buy disposables when I spent long periods in the US.

You can go into any CVS, buy a cheap $10 phone + minutes all in the store.

But you’ll need another phone to activate it.

What kind of phone number is it?

I do not want it to be a 1-800 number or something it needs to be real i.e area code.

The iphone burner app would be great you can choose from different states/area codes but, I do not have one :frowning:

And always remember, phones do not only send the signal of the SIM card but also the IMEI number which is connected to your phone.

At least in Europe.

So, you need to ditch your SIM card and you phone, not just change the SIM card regularly…

Just in case you really do not want someone to find out what you were doing or who you were talking to, which in my experience can be for a surprisingly great number of reasons, besides drug deals.

NTTIAWWT.

There is an app called burner which allows you to buy a temp number to use on your regular smart phone. They do cooperate however with law enforcement but if works if you want to give a no commitment phone number to a slightly heavy drunk girl you are trying to pick up in a bar.

Every phone is disposable.

LOL…Guys this is not for anything illegal.

I run a couple small businesses where I do commissioned work and would like dedicated numbers for them so, as to not have to constantly ask what the call is in regard to.

That is why I want pre-paid/disposable phones. However, I want it to look professional with a real number, valid area code and I want them to be able to receive calls.

Not (555) 258-8521 or 1-800-…

I use google voice for that. I have a business phone number that rings to my computer and/my cell. Its pretty impressive, youvcan pick local number and its free for US calls.

lol. my first thought as well.

When buying em, don’t let your girl distract you from protocol.

If you have verizon it cost $10 to add another line.

This is a fantastic option. You can also customize that voice mail so it’s different than your personal one. This ensures that you’re only carrying a single device around.

They function exactly the same as a real phone… your area code will depend where you activate it. Most prepaid phones have balances that run out, so a $10 balance will expire at the end of the month, $25 at the end of 3 months, $90 at the end of 6, etc…

Another potential option is a firefox add-on called DoNotTrackMe. It makes anonymous emails that get forwarded to yours, but the premium version also creates dummy phone and credit card numbers (legal).
