I recently saw a cover of People magazine featuring a now even thinner Jessica Simpson and the caption ‘How Can Nick Leave Her Now’. These messages tell young girls/women that if you’re just a little thinner, all your problems will be solved, and this cover is only one example.
In the future I suspect that you’ll see even more females looking like this.

I don’t understand how you could possibly categorize Jessica Simpson as having ever been ‘plump’.

seriously doubt it … i would say that i used to have some food issues, and i was never abused, although i used to kick it at the neverland ranch.
but seriously, i went to college too. fortunately, i don’t remember most of the shit they told me. remember, it’s a bunch of vroom’s running those institutions!

Didn’t say I agreed with the theory, just remember it was proposed. I believe it was the Rader Institute that it came out of. But they also apparantly use Freudian psycholgy as the basis for their treatment.
We all got issues, we all deal with them, sometimes good, sometimes bad.

Can you spell “hard work” and “muscle memory”? From 50 Cent to Brad Pitt, I swear you would think everyone needs drugs bany time they appear to gain any muscle mass according to some of you. Regardless of what may be possible, it makes little sense to even start focusing in on something like that simply because someone makes impressive gains, especially claiming growth hormone use.

I crossed it. I am 232. Where’s my freakin 19" arms?

Man, you don’t have to get all personal. If you think I’m fat, just tell me… But small too – harsh…
BTW, when did you talk to all my ex girlfriends?

Maybe you’re just shit out of luck, man. Hey congrats on the weight increase though.
To tell the truth, it may have been closer to 240 but it isn’t like I was really taking note. All I do know is that it has taken about 20lbs of overall mass to gain an inch on my arms. I’m sure they’ll shrink a little if I diet down as well.

That was funny. Was it okay to use the quotes here?

Vroomy, just kinda wondering who you were talking to? Or were you talking to the thread in general?

Bro, I don’t think she was ever “plump” I meant that humorously in comparison to how thin she has gotten. She still looks totally hot, but I liked her when she was a few body fat percentages higher myself. I guess you didn’t read me.
Haven’t you heard, there is a moratorium on quoting…

At what BF%? Flexed? When you measure your arms should they be relaxed or flexed? I really am interested here… If I had 19" arms at 210 I’d be a happy camper…

I just saw the second lady today. She walks around my neighborhood in Los Angeles all the time. It looks worse in person.

She’s skinny because those other girls eat all her food.

They should be flexed when the measurement is taken. Also, no one really cares what the measurement is pumped so take it before training. When I was 210lbs, my arms were about 18.5". I think I was close to around 10-11% body fat at that time. I didn’t have my percentage checked (as I think way too many people get caught up in that) but my abs were visible along the top but less visible at and under my navel.

I’m not a bro! I’m a girrrrrl. ![]()
I understood what you were saying, but this ‘plump’ term just grates my nerves. Particularly when it’s used to describe someone who, by all accounts, has always been thin.
Just_Wrong, my sincere apologies.
You exuded a straight forwardness that I mistook for being male. I guess that was a poor choice of words, but I think we are on the same page. I preferred her as I said a few percentages higher on the body fat scale. I like curves!

Okay, so I was a bit off in my timeline. I just read that Christian Bale put on just over 100 pounds in about 5 months, “much of that muscle”, they say. From 120-pound frame in The Machinist, to about 220, athletic and muscular for Batman. In 5 months time?? I think half of us here would kill a puppy to find gains like that. I don’t think I’m unjustified in expecting him to have some kind of anabolic assistance, in conjunction with a boatload of food, and serious training.
I will say that his physique in American Psycho very much reminded me of Frank Zane, lean, aesthetic, and still very well muscled.

We’re getting a little off topic from eating disorders, but I would think that from this picture, he could gain 50lbs just picking up a fork! The rest is just hard work.

Not only that, but it doesn’t seem as if he never trained before. Regaining muscle that is lost is not hard. If that left even 20lbs that he needed to gain on his own, that is not impossible or even unheard of.
