Ever Day while I’m watching Tv… at some point I see a commercial about a diet\weightloss\bullshit machine. They have become so infused with fallacies…it is so blatant the whole point of using them has been lost.
Ive heard many things such as… Its IMPOSSIBLE TO LOSE WEIGHT WITHOUT EATING\taking “…”.
“It was impossible for me to loose weight.” I half assed ever fad diet there was and im actually lying but I want people to feel sorry for me. there is no weigh I could just eat lean meats and vegetables, I cant handle the stress of not going to Macdonald’s twice a day
you can loose 40 lbs in the first week!!!
I went from 350lbs to 175lbs in 5 months while gaining 50lbs of muscle! now im a model and you can be one to!
you can burn twice the calories in half the time! If that is true then it is only possible by doing twice the work of the original exercise which you probably went to the gym once a month to do?
I have obviously started to get really pissed off about all of these commercials… they lie to people and tell them to buy prepared meals like Nutrisystem… which actually only comes with the desert and freeze dried eggs… they say you have to add any proteins, fruits and veggies(I looked it up lol) It makes alot of people confused about what to do when its relatively simple…
And they’re even more confused when it comes to nutrition (at least in my experience)[/quote]
I work at a grocery store, more people then not walk out with several packages of cookies and ice cream, and womens world weight loss secrets ever week. People just don’t care.
Don’t lift weights! Not more than the holy pink dumbbells!!!111!one!!!1 You’ll get bloated and fat and bulky and blocky and hyoooge and unattractive and big and ugly and disgusting and scary looking and stupid and retarded and dumb!! Cardio 5 times a week at a moderate pace makes you trim and athletic and cut and toned and ripped and sexy and firm and functional!!!1!
It’s amazing how you can make big and muscular sound bad, and skinny and weak sound good, given you use the right adjectives.

your spot on with that first comment, most people dont understand the basic concept that once you get off the treadmill your body pretty much stops burning fat and your metabolism goes back to normal, where with weight training your burning fat for around another 24 hours. It’s sad my mum and her friend are going to england in 2 weeks and her friend has hinted at wanting advice(wont directly come out and ask which is fine because she has heard how it annoys me when people ask for advice then don’t use it) but yesterday I decided I’d do some cardio with her. She sadly couldn’t grasp the concept that your body uses more energy over a longer period of time to help rebuild muscle fibers. I felt kinda bad for her but at least she is consistent with her cardio and giving it a shot(she is overweight/obese) which is great too see her doing something
nutrition on the otherhand I think most people know what they should and shouldn’t be eating i think its more the commercials and lack of home economics in school(teaching kids how to cook the food). The last 2-3 years I’ve been learning how to cook various things as I realized girls like it when you can cook(you get more sex lol) and now know how to make a tasty healthy meal. Also people are still holding on to research which isn’t valid i.e. eggs being horrible for you(even though the research that was done for this study was done by the cereal board, when people hear this they finally understand the conflicted interest).
sorry for rambling but if you find anything of use cool

I took a nutrition class in school several years ago… was 9th grade and I was given a 98 in the class when I missed 10 days and didnt get 100s on all the tests simply because I actually knew how to cook… I started cooking when I was 5 years old… if you know how to cook it, nothing is stopping you from cooking then eating it hehe
One of the sad moments was when we were making pizza and a group of people surrounded me asking if I worked at a pizza joint because I didnt scew up up the dough… I didnt know the concept of not sticking your fingers into the douch was very complicated?
Another one was people claiming they know how to cook… the stove is involved in cooking… mixing milk and cereal is no different then pouring a drink and putting ice in it…another complicated concept for some…
dont even get me started on spices… people couldnt read labels… putting in 3 table spoons of oregano instead of 1tb oregano, 1tb crushed bay leaf and 1Tb sage lol…

That is so true. They all believe science will save their sorry asses. Some wonder pill that will cure all their problems.
