Fox News = Shit. I’ve never heard a truly intelligent thing come out of Sean Hannity’s mouth.

You mean like when Sean says, “God Bless America!” or “Remember to vote!” Yes, those are not intelligent…those things are just plain evil.

I’d love to be one of your English teachers. Guess your grade.

We’ve been over the grammar thing before, HH, and if I recall, you misused “it’s”. And I’ve got a 97 in English thank you very much. It’s the internet, get over it and be happy im nawt tawkin leik thees.

And right here is an example of what your beloved Ann does, taking obvious hyperbole as literal word.

Sean Hannity isn’t evil. Just a spin doctor who takes the ultra conservative side of every argument, and then doesn’t assess the argument of his “opponents”.

You’d fail for stating that you’ve never heard anything intelligent come out of Sean Hannity’s mouth. Since Sean is paid to speak as it were, he could not be incapable of intelligent speech. You’re either lying or you never listen. In either case, you get an ‘F’.

Once again, taking HYPERBOLE as literal word.

Have you never heard someone use hyperbole before to make a point? I think Sean Hannity or whoever is pulling his strings is a deeply conservative idiot.

Plenty of people who are paid to speak say nothing but garbage, so that argument is shot (See Rosie).

And on a final note, are you using a different definition of “intelligent” than I am? Because that’s another thing your lovely Anne likes to do.

Some of you people basing FOX’s NEWS coverage are a little confused.

The usual suspects - O’Reiley, Hannity and Colmes, Greta Van Sustren, Neil Cavuto, et al - are NOT news. They are talk shows centered around current events.

You don’t get angry at Oprah for editorializing, do you?

If you want straight, right-slanted, unwatered down news shows, watch Shepherd Smith or Brit Hume.

Yes, as usual, there seems to be confusion on what is editorial programming and what is news. If you think editorial programming comes off as opinionated, you haven’t uncovered any mystery.

As for the news reporting, make an argument and back it up that the news reporting is biased.

I don’t watch FOX, I don’t especially like the network (I really only watch it for right-wing football games, because, you know, everything FOX does has to be right-wing, even showing football games).

One odd phenomenon is that FOX detractors seem to know more about FOX programming that do FOX watchers - and something doesn’t add up. Surely the FOX detractors aren’t really watching it that much?

True. Sorry about that,

Though the NEWS is still crap.

“Can your refrigerator kill your children? Find out at ten!”

At Ten:

“No! But a snake was found in this mans fridge that could have maybe had a chance of hurting his child!” Que twenty minuet story.

Actually, it comes on right after House, so I watch it at least once a week. I watch O’Reilly plenty, though that isn’t really news (around once a week). Hannity I catch a few times a month, but he usually pisses me off to the point where I have to turn it within ten minuets or so. Haven’t seen Brit Hume’s show in awhile, though the clips I’ve seen have given me a bleak picture of it.

I try to get my news from a variety of sources.

Every news station does that. It could be fox it could be msnbc. If you use that rationality to hate fox then use it to hate every other news outlet because they all do that.

I watch a LOT of news. FOX does it waaaay more often than MSNBC. Though CNN is closing in on them.

FOX has some good news, I’m not saying it’s devoid of anything newslike, it’s just a bit worse when it comes to sensationalism.

I’m generally disappointed in the TV media these days. Almost every channel is complete and utter garbage. Paper journalism is following the same path, with garbage like USA Today and the NY Post.

The last vestiges of good journalism, in my mind:

New York Times
Washington Post
Baltimore Sun
Christian Science Monitor (One of my favorites)
And of course, BBC international news (as I wouldn’t watch the Brit news anyway)

No American broadcast channels make that list, in my mind.

Not that they don’t have some good news, and they all have plenty of entertainment, but they just seem to place more importance on what sells, and not what’s actually news.

EX: Why is Anna Nicole Smith more important than the Scooter Libby trial? Than Gonzales’s hearing? Why is a “escort” scandal more important than the presidential primary debates? Than a bill proposal to withdraw troops from Iraq?

We will have to agree to disagree with fox having more then msnbc. The point im making is watch a bunch of news, don’t eliminate fox just because it has a conservative view, I believe the second we stop watching something just because he doesn’t have the same view as we do IMMIDATLY makes it so we have no right to join in arguments about the subject because you do not have the whole story.(not saying you don’t using this as a general rule for everyone).
