Timothy McVeigh was a US citizen
Yep…a bronze star earning soldier who served his country.
OK, so being a legal US citizen does not preclude the possibility of being her enemy.
Of course…just as being educated…or studying abroad in other countries doesn’t include you as being her enemy either.[/quote]
I agree. Those things by themselves mean nothing. There are people I’ve known personally who were not born here and never set foot on US soil before adulthood who I consider as fully patriotic Americans. Nairobi, Ecuador, Mexico and Poland.
They love this country for what has made it great and are horrified by the utter lack of understanding exhibited by multi generational naturals who don’t recognize bullshit when they see it.

uhh, cuz it wasn’t on this thread, and this thread is the only place I’ve been on the politics forum.
I started the thread because I thought it was pretty cool how far we’ve come as a nation in the last 100 years. We’ve gone from blacks can’t vote to a black man voted in as president. I still think its pretty cool.
I just got a little surprised by the amount of bile here. I see this as a defining and historic moment for the union, and I get a lot of “Obama is the antichrist” shit.
And also, make your argument when you’re arguing. I didn’t tell you to look up my history to know where I’m coming from.
Finally, I guess I missed some speeches, but I don’t recall Obama or Biden talking about poor downtrodden black folks and the nasty white meanies. What they talk about is lifting up the part of the population that needs lifting up.
Remember, the responsibility of great strength is to help those without great strength, hence my comments about the little guy.

And people have always taken on this responsibility. Not gov’ts job. When gov’t gets involved, there are just as many leaches as those that need “lifting up”.
I will spend my money on those that I deam worthy of charity. I don’t Barry deciding who I support with the fruits of my labor. I make sacrifices others chose not to, to support my familiy.
Why should 40% of my earnings be taken from me and given to those that chose not to make the same sacrifices. Barry says he wants to take more of my money and give it to those that do not put in the hours or make the sacrifices I make.
