Demigod before 35 (Aldebaran)

I don’t do stuff like that any more. You know, since the arrest.

Define expensive

How often do I have to say I’m sorry man?! Enough is enough.

350 euros and used. We don’t have that much of a budget at first (even though my friend only bought the most expensive texas power bars)

I think at first we can settle on cheaper. Like I’ll tfy and scour harbours and all to find heavy chains hehe

Have you guys considered getting a business loan? Also, be open to that the euro is strong and not all countries within the EU use the euro. You might be able to make some good deals that way. Shipping might do you in though but depending on the country you could drive and pick things up yourself.

Seems I’ve returned to the forums for some exciting news from u!

Do you happen to know any people who work with metal or wood? Could fabricate some stuff for you. Maybe go to the park and steal some rocks lol

Yes, I have a good friend who’s a welder and creates metal items. That’s a good idea

That’s a massive help. Can make u up all kinds of implements and frames and stuff. Modify existing stuff. I’m jealous! I’ve trained at some very well equipped strongman facilities (mostly did powerlifting stuff there unfortunately lol) and the sheer breadth of implements is staggering (staggeringly costly also apparently). Do you have a particular priority of kit to get?

Brian Alsruhe’s youtube Channel has a load of stuff about building your own strongman kit, and a “must-have” list of essential gear too.

For now, strongman wise I think we only have the yoke and fat bar.

I really want to cast some stones asap. This is not strongman but I also want many CHAINS. Not only do they look badass but I like their simpleness of use and the fact that they feel good on my weak joints (knee and shoulders) while overloading the end curve (especially useful for me in the squat as my weak points are a good 10 cms over parallel, and upper back rounding)

I’m still doing the Unity. Long tough sessions, I’m trying to do my best. Still figuring the box squat and low bar. Well, the wide stance really isn’t for me in the end. I’ll have to keep figuring it out a bit, for too close I have butt wink, wider I have zero strength, or at least speed, and it’s 100% hips

For the floor press this week I took the fat bar for a spin.

I got up to 105 for a triple. I’ve never been super strong at floor press for some reason ahah and these are hard! they really destroy the whole arms! This week i’ll try with the regular bar to see how heavy I can get

My left shoulder/arm is bugging me. Not like a tendonitis but heh. I’m guessing the low bar + all this triceps work is having some toll on my old injured shoulder

I did actual Poundstone curls. I was very proud to do the 100 without a single break. I couldn’t extend my arms for 10 mins afterwards and they been sore for 4 days lol! Last 20 reps were atrocious.

So here’s me. Still under 90 kgs. I eat, I eat. garbage if I want to but I guess I move a lot and 3 hour s sessions also have their toll.

Saturday I ate 2 enhanced pizzas, 2 homemade cheeseburgers and all, yet sunday I was leaner! The 1h30 of cardio I did in the cold that day really leaned me up

Is this like pizza with Test as a topping? Lol

Ugh so yesterday my right knee (the “good one”) gave out. I think it has something to do with the little injury from the 1RM clean and jerk two months ago.

I’m thinking torn meniscus, but I can only have a MRI for early February…

Yesterday was sick (a cold), tired AF, and dreading these terrible long sessions. Max effort front squats was a true RPE 10

Afterwards, etaching Crossfit and when I was doing the warm-up with them (jumping jacks, burpees and such) I think my knee finally had enough.

It’s not very painful, most of the pain zero pain at all, but I can’t fully extend my knee completely and it’s annoying. I can’t walk properly, I have a tiny limp.

Gonna take a week off legs and do something else afterwards (meaning program, because I wasn’t recovering from these workouts. Was it the same for you @TrainForPain when doing the Unity? Loved the first 3 weeks even though it was tough, but then i started having troubles. I started loathing the pull day as well and being very unmotivated by it. The dynamic days were almost 2 hours for me, and the max effort sometimes 3 hours… I feel like right now I could not recover, not with the work and the classes I teach (meaning more exercise on top of it))

Because for sure, as a self-employed coach, I’m not going to stop working or training for 2 months before figuring out what I have, if I need surgery etc…

I was thinking soing what I love, more sessions, but shorter (1h -1h30).

Got my eyes on something more conditioning-y. Brian Alsruhe Conjugate and Jason Brown’s Conditioning X Conjugate, also “Corssfit for Meatheads”

Thinking about starting with Bryan progression then doing my own shit

Sorry to hear about the knee, my man. Hope it’s nothing too serious. Heal up quickly!

Definitely sounds meniscus.

You described my Unity experience almost exactly. The first phase was fun, then it was a grind, then it was miserable the last couple weeks. I liked the conjugate + bodybuilding kind of setup, but it didn’t feel like they took anything out. Like it was a full Westside week plus a full Meadows week. I basically floundered trying to get back on track for like 8 weeks after. Some of that was because John died and I got scared bodybuilding was going to kill me, but I think a lot of it was just I was beat up.

I’m very interested in what you end up doing, because I think my brain is on the same path. I’m kind of sort of doing Alsruhe conjugate stuff, because I want to be in better condition too and I did like the conjugate set-up, but I get bored easy. My gym (we moved) is crazy crowded even at 5am, so I can’t just do whatever I feel like circuit-wise; a bit of a plan helps me.

Unfortunately, considering my history, it’s more likely something serious. But well, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Yeah I’m guessing a little piece got stuck between femur and tibia, preventing me from full extension. Gonna avoid any jump and shock til the MRI, but still gonna lift…

At my pwoerlifting guys, some guys train like that all the time. Maybe less volume. But still.

Here lies the difference between genetic elite/being on drugs ahah. Recovery!

I think i’ll devise this next week. Will tag you in for the detailed plan

Or maybe just not having a job or family? I don’t know, but I for sure was getting nowhere.

Please do!

If you ever wanna brainstorm some training around a busted knee ideas, feel free to hit me up.

Heck man I will for sure, and especially since soon enough I’ll finally embrace the strongman way…

Hmmm I just realized… No jumps, no burpees, no running… ugh this foils my plans. At least cardio-wise
