Pookie you must not have read any of the cows comments after she was released. She said she had no idea that naming a teddy mohammad would cause so much outrage. What roch has she been living under? People died over cartoons about mohammad. Except for noone dying yet, this whole affair is not out of character for muslims.
That doesn’t make her stupid. Who in his right mind would think anyone would kill over what name is given to a plush toy.
She’s just a teacher doing her job. Sheesh, those muslims must be laughing their heads off when they see guys like you blame the victims of their persecutions for their plights.
She’s the normal, mentally healthy one here. SHE’s the one WE support, not the brain-damaged followers of an 8th century illiterate pedophile.
None of her actions have caused any harm whatsoever to anyone. To be punished, imprisoned and threatened of death for nothing IS THE STUPID, UNACCEPTABLE ACT here.
This is yet another occasion were those supposed millions of peace-loving muslims could shine but, again, fail to come through. They’re like UFOs; you hear about them on TV and in books, but you never actually get to SEE one…
And if you fear further backlash, don’t. Additional unprovoked acts of hatred will simply further convince humanity that Islam is a dangerous cancer of the mind that needs to be eradicated from human kind. Let it join smallpox in the history of dangerous diseases eliminated from the globe.
Lixy you should hear what my cockney uncle has to say about British liberals. What I said is true they do have their own predjudices. The one they have regarding muslims is dismissing extremists as merely being “nutters”. As if Osama and company are all suffering from a massive group insanity.
I have news for them, insane people are not all going to be on the same page and work well together towards a common goal.
What is driving all of this is ideology and philosophy. Which is something that liberals refuse to understand.
I think part of the reason for this is a lot of liberals are atheists. In their world view anyone who believes in a supreme being is silly. So they just dismiss all religions as equally silly without ever taking the time to understand the underlying philosophies which differentiate them.
If the Bashir government organised the protests why did he let her go? How did he do that? Does he have a mob of atheists that he hires to act like muslims in case of such a situation arises? Or was this a genuine venting of outrage?
Pookie, I think it is ridiculous that this became such an issue, but I am not the least bit surprised by it either.
It might seem petty to us for people to die over the Mohammad cartoons but that is their religion. After that I would think that people would have gotten the message that muslims are a minefield and if you take one mistep a bomb is going to go off.
That’s why that teacher is stupid. She didn’t keep it in mind that muslims are extremely volatile and get a second opinion from a mufti to make sure things would be ok.
She put herself in harms way by moving to the Sudan. If you go swimming with sharks and get bit it’s your own fault. I don’t think it is fair to jeapordize others to save her from the predicament she put herself in.
The people in the British government are even bigger idiots for getting her out early. Now the Sudanese who wanted her head have even more reason to feel that justice has not been carried out and they have been humiliated by the British.
Sifu, so what? Do you think it would have been somehow more beneficial if she would have been stoned to death in Sudan? Would that have been of some use?
Phew, that was close but now there will be no more bombings? How are these things connected? How could her death, because she was dumb and she deserved it, prevent an act of terrorism in England?
You just don’t like her altruism, you have no political reasons for your comment.

We agree so far…
Here’s where we disagree. I don’t think we should be tiptoeing around. It won’t work anyway, they’ll just find even more trivial shit to get angry about.
We need for everyone to denounce (peacefully, for now) everyone of those acts. Send email to every muslim you know. Let’s deluge mosques and muslims organizations with mail and flyers every time one of those incidents occurs. Let’s let them know that the vast majority of the world who’s NOT muslim is getting fed up with their stupid antics, and we won’t stop until they learn to coexist peacefully - for real, not just the hypocritical lip service we keep getting.
And when countries back up those kinds of ridiculous acts; we should embargo them for months each time. One month the first offence, two months the second time; doubling the number of months every time one of those repugnant evil act of cruelty is perpetrated.
Yeah, but the problem is not the teacher. It’s not the reasonable, intelligent people who must adapt. It’s the cruel savages who must evolve and join the rest of us in the 21st century.
Sharks are animals. You don’t expect them to know any better.
And she went to Sudan presumably to help. That country is mostly a shithole and if it didn’t happen to have oil, you’d never hear about it. Someone that leaves behind a comfortable life to go and help young kids in Africa should be respected and thanked. Anyone who cannot see that; who believes that naming a fucking teddy bear is an offense punishable by death is beneath any animal… only a dogma-ravaged mind can think so wrongly.
But to blame the teacher for doing her job and being an entirely normal person is to completely miss the problem. Worse, it adds to it by giving a kind of respect to those actions. In essence, you’re saying “You are fucking nuts, but that’s ok, it’s your right.” It’s not ok, and it’s not right.
I am not saying those people were right to react the way they did. What I am saying is she shouldn’t have gone near them in the first place. But when she did go there and it went bad they shouldn’t have provoked the Sudanese any more by bailing her out.
They weren’t going to whip her and they weren’t going to stone her all it was, was one more week in jail.
Africa is a huge continent pookie. She could have gone to a Christian country where she wouldn’t have been able to cause any trouble for anyone instead of wasting her efforts in a muslim one.
Actually, you both have points. The lady is clearly dumb for underestimating the supreme stupidity that is radical islam and it pervasiveness though out the middle east and northern africa.
But of course, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the true villans here are the government of Sudan and it’s kooky islamic courts and the assholes who demanded the death for a person who did absolutely nothing wrong. Ultimately, stupid people don’t deserve to die for being stupid. Besides we’re all stupid from time to time.
