Yeah I didn’t get that choked up about it either.

It sucks man. There’s always an element to these things that make me think it’s fake.

Like that whole Colorado Balloon Boy thing, shit like that has jaded me, so my heart doesn’t go out to situations like that as much as it could[/quote]

Interesting phenomenon.
I mean some people won’t get choked up because it’s possibly FAKE, but they’ll watch any movie with a sad but fictitious (fake) story, and end up a blubbering mess.

lol

Because you know going in that it’s a story.

The internet, especially as it pertains to social media and sites like Youtube all have this little coating of doo-doo dust on it. Murks it up, doesn’t hit the emotional chords as hard as it could.

That’s the way it is with me anyway.

Like, as an example. The Iron Giant. The end of that movie made me all sorts of blubbery.

Watch it on youtube? Just doesn’t hit me the same. It’s a snippet, not a journey, and my emotions don’t have the opportunity to spread out and take hold.

Oh, man! I choke up on Iron Giant every time (one of my favorite FILMS of all time).

Also interesting to note (and a bit off on a tangent)… most movies (or even youtube vids) with a good soundtrack can bring on the tears as well. In fact, heartfelt music is probably MOST responsible for initiating an emotional response from the viewer. Try to imagine a film like Gladiator (which chokes me up as well) without Zimmer’s powerful soundtrack.

My brother made this. It’s about our cat that got ran over. Lots of footage of him. He was only one year old.
The sad part with some epic trailer music starts at 11:20.
The first time my brother watched it, he ‘got misty’ lol. So did I, I really loved him and his quirks.
I set the video to start at 11:20 but I don’t know if that carries over when you copy and paste the link.

Let me know if this chokes any of you up at all.

That’s true. The Benny Hill theme would’ve left you very confused. Hell, I almost got a little broken up watching Arthur Christmas with my kids. I think it was the realization that times like that go by too quick. They still have this innocence and curiosity about them. However, if a grown man got shot right in front of my house, I’d probably finish up my training before calling 911.

didn’t quite get me choked up as i am rather jaded, but i think i know how your brother feels. growing up i always had a cat or cats. most were just a cat as they say, and right now i’ve got a few that i don’t care for all that much - self centered, cowardly, unaffectionate unless they want something. but i had this one cat that was the opposite - curious, confident, fun, friendly much like Roger looks to have been. sadly he too got ran over, i miss the bugger. why do we always lose the good ones.

Nice vid production, but I didn’t get choked up (though I did laugh at many spots), however I can fully see how you or your brother would because he was your beloved family member.

Supersoldier ants

Yeah I thought this was from the onion or something but apparently it’s real.

^^ Whoa, old Han’s lookin a bit medicated these days, that’s kinda terrible

For any MMA fans out there, my brother made this.

Haha… I don’t get the Turkey one though (and that’s where my family is from)

I don’t get the Norway one.

edit: Ah, apparently there is/was a butter crisis in Norway.

Hmmm what could we get Norweigen blond hotties to do for some butter…
