It’s just that the question asks the student to pretend they are a Chinese immigrant to the US and write about their experiences and the student who wrote this paper must’ve been of Chinese descent and actually wrote it in Chinese.

That was great!
I was at work this morning when you linked this and I didn’t have time to watch it till now, so I was wondering what would be funny about it.
Well, he did a good job, if commentary was supposed to be about explaining the movie for the semi-retarded.
I guess Arnold was so busy for the longest time that he’s never of course “wasted” time watching a DVD commentary, and no one explained to him just what to say in one.
‘‘It was a surprise to him that this great machine could break down like that’’.
Just classic.
Also, the Beavis and Butthead stuff was hilarious!

Conan the Barbarian one is exactly the same, but during all movie. He’s watching it with John Millius and you can even hear the glasses being filled…and I’m sure it’s not with water…

Hah, that one is the worst because for every insightful remark and explanation of symbolism made by Milius Arnold inevitably follows it up with some completely retarded observation. They should’ve just got James Earl Jones instead.

I could bring my computer with me back in time to let’s say the 13th century, just as the Dark Ages lifted, and show this video to someone from that time, and after allowing them a minute or two to wrap their brain around the idea of images displayed with great fidelity on my magical glass I’m sure they’s still say after a minute and a half “Why doth this image vex me so and have an aire to it of being formed of shyte?”

Arnold: “why did you have that boy wear lipstick?”
Milius: “his lips are naturally that red”
Arnold: “oh. i feel sorry for him.”

Add a wicked bass line and some complicated drums and you got yourself a Rush song.

The teacher is obviously an English speaking American or Brit and expected the students to take the first person approach to relating their experience as if they were a Chinese immigrant. The joke is that one bright student actually took the assignment literally (using Chinese characters).
I am quite certain that the teacher can’t even read Chinese!
Student WIN!

I really hope I’m the first person to ever post this, I’d imagine it would solidify my place as the greatest poster this site has ever known.

opens mouth to say something…decides to leave the stage while dropping the mike
I can’t wait to watch this video after I get home from work. Or at least I think I can’t wait.
OK, watched it.
What a coincidence though, when people ask me why I lift, for years now I’ve been saying “To keep my outlook on life shiny and new.”

The song sounds like he’s trying to be the next Gordon Lightfoot. . . and failing miserably.
