But this book made me realize that the way you learned how WW1 began in middle school isn’t quite right. It’s a good read, if but a bit dry in the middle when it goes into detail about each major power’s history leading up to WW1.

I just recently read "The Guns of August,’ thought it was excellent.
What’s funny is that I saw this image (If WWI was a bar fight) a few months ago, thought it was amusing, and had a vague recollection of how it correlated to history, but having a more solid handle on the background now, I think it’s hilarious.
