Rollins vs. Danzig - who wins?
I give it to Rollins. I think he’d jump on him like “Blanka” from Street Fighter 2 and start biting his head…
I’ve seen Rollins ‘Spoken Word’ tour a couple of times and the guy has an intensity that’s for sure. Not sure what his brawling prowess is, however, he’s never really paraded around like Danzig does.
Rollins is like “I’m fucking here by the way. Standing right here. You see me? You hear me? Yea…I fucking thought so.”
whereas Danzig is more like
“I’m a bad motherfucker I’ma rip you a new feedin hole and mail it to your mother so she gonna cry oh yeaaauuuuuaaaa.” /flex
I’d go with Rollins just for sheer intensity. =P

Agree with this. At 50 years old, the guy is full of fire. His intensity seems more authentic, whereas Danzig’s maybe a bit more of a poser. I’m betting he would have gotten himself into some shit on at least a few occasions back in his Black Flag days as wel.

I am pretty sure Rollins threw down more than alot in Black Flag, especially overseas. There is a reason he hates drunks. As for Danzig he got knocked out and so what, not to defend him but I have seen guys who fight for a living get knocked out by lucky punches and other objects in bar fights by some random drunk. It happens

That was not a lucky punch. He pushed the dude, hard in a threatening manner, and the guy cocked back, lunged all his weight at him and let him have it.
He could have ducked it ten years ago but I still think he was counting on security to step in and let him carry the day with his shove.
But of course anyone can get knocked out. We all have jaws.

Wow Houston, I just stumbled on to that video again as well yesterday while kicking up a Danzig/Misfits revival. Danzig soooo had that coming. As much as I dig the guy’s voice he just totally comes off as a pretentious asshole. Danny is even talking calmly and just obviously a bit annoyed he’s driven for 6 hours with his band and not gotten a chance to play. Then Danzig goes and get’s all demon.
And lol RV…I think it’s pretty safe to say when all is said and done that 9/10 Danzig would get knocked the fuck out. He escalated a normal conversation towards violence and had an eternity to dodge that blow. He didn’t get caught off guard - he’s the one who escalated.
I don’t know why but I love the misfits.

So do I. It’s a closet passion though. In fact I kept it hidden for 20 years and only just started listening to them again this week, but back in the mid 80’s they were my food and Flag was my drink.
Glen can certainly sing and write a tune. Just a shame he couldn’t seperate the stage persona from real life.
Yeah I think maybe his persona was more exciting than regular Joe life or maybe he was possessed?
Stern wrote:

It’s not a random guy in a bar getting knocked out. It’s a rock n roll star being a douchebag and getting knocked out. That makes it special in my book =P
But yea Henry has been in loads of scraps in the Flag days I’m sure. Fights at gigs were standard fair back then. I remember a Fugazi gig in Dallas that went tits up after everyone was moved outside due to fire regulations and that was in the later 80’s when crowds had started to calm down a bit. Never seen so many people in one place with their fisticuffs out.

Hah! Personally, I think he’s invested so much time into his presence on stage (and I remember reading somewhere about him encouraging the rest of the Misfits crew to hit the gym hard) that he fully believed in it. Not a bad thing per se, but when that presence is a big bad ass in tune with his darkside it’s not really going to do you any favours in situations like the above. Whereas most folk might say “listen man, sorry we couldn’t wait but there’s X amount of time to get through here and the fans were waiting…” hell… he could’ve said a hundred things to neutralise the situation and get on with his life. But he chose “FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER!” lol. He’s in front of his fans and crew. Can’t have the big bad wolf being all reasonable and polite now can we?
I think you’re right- he probably expected security to step in. He certainly didn’t expect Danny to fight back.
that guy that hit him is in a hardcore band named Northside Kings. The dispute was over set times running into each other. After that northside made this shirt…
