Damn Cops!

Zeb’s right, in this city if a court date is scheduled on an officers off-duty hours, he gets minimum 4 hours pay even if he is in and out of the courtroom in 5 minutes. One of my best friends is a cop and last year he took home a couple grand short of 100Gs because of all the court time.

go noles!

I shoulda been a cop.

Don’t let it get to you that mofo is just doing his job.
If it will help you feel better NateDogg, know that I got a $190 ticket on my snowmobile a couple weekends ago.

I was so pissed when the officer told me how much the ticket was I just about tore his fucking head off. Felt like I had been violated. I guess I forgot what I learned on my crotch-rocket in college. It’s usually cheaper to hit the gas (and far more satisfying).

War “Never let the law get in the way of a good time.” horse
That is freakin’ crazy! $190 ticket on your snowmobile?

I think I may contest the ticket. A cop friend said I can contest it, plead guilty and ask the judge to with hold points. So I will most likely go that route. I’ll pay the fine, but I’d rather not have the points on my license.

You must already be paying huge cash for insurance on that car!

Nate Dogg, this is hilarious! I’m laughing because when I was 16 I got nailed for the same thing. I couldn’t believe it.

Warhorse, that sucks, big time.

One of My mates got a $380 fine for doing a crapply little burnout in a backstreet with no people or traffic about.

Believe it or not, my insurance is actually lower now than when I owned my ITR or WRX. In fact, I’m paying $628 every six months for full coverage (COLL, COMP, PD, BI, PIP, MP, RENTAL/TOWING, PDUM, etc.).

I’m only paying $40 more every six months than what I was paying on my 1989 CRX Si with the exact same coverage.

Getting older has its priviledges (I just turned 29 last week).

Not to mention, I’ve been with Nationwide Insurance for many, many years (originally under my dad but got my own insurance when I had my own car).

All previous tickets did not get reported to my insurance company because I took driver’s education classes to have all points withheld. Thus, the reason I will contest the ticket, pay the fine and ask the judge to with hold points. I never saw or knew that the sign had been posted. Now that I do, it won’t happen again. But for such a silly infraction, I’d like to not have points assessed.

Brett, that totally sucks! I mean, if there is no one around, and you’re not endangering anyone, what’s the big deal with a burnout? It’s one thing to street race, but people do burnouts all the time! Rice boys are always trying to race on the streets and are constantly burning out at stoplights!

Man insurance is cheap in Florida. Here in Toronto I’d probably be paying without exaggeration at least $4000/year for such a car and I’m in my 30s. At least I get free health care, so maybe I shouldn’t complain. Then again because of my healthy lifestyle, I never get sick. Damn!

U think thats bad? In the UK insurance on a car like that for me (20yr old) would be about ?3-4K, thats if anyone would insure me at all. PLus petrol is like ?0.80 per litre. There is a huge problem over here with fixed speed cameras in stupid places that are used to crete revenue. Hell in London you have to pay ?5 a day to drive round the centre of the city! Don’t even get me started on parking…

Crazy insurance prices out of the states. But maybe your other benefits help make up for it!

I have a radar detector. It arrived a couple days before, in fact. But what good is a radar detector if law enforcement isn’t even using radar? And what good does a radar detector do if you’re not speeding?
