Blahaha. I wouldn’t blast 250. I would blast 4-500. What’s your TRT dose?
@mrmeeseeks
Well there’s ways to minimise risk from cumulative decades of AAS. One could avoid the use of orals and use predominantly short estered compounds (which I’m not sure if it’s worth it, cycles wouldn’t be as long but the constant ED to EOD injections would probably be a literal pain in the ass. I don’t believe 250mg is enough for a blast. If I was to be using 250mg/week my test levels would be around 900-1000ng/DL… not even supraphysiological. Support supplements like tumeric and NAC may help, not sure… But I take them anyways. There’s a small body of evidence to suggest Curcumin can help with hypertension induced LVH.
There’s not a decent brief answer to that haha !!
I’ve never had testosterone injections.
Been on TRT for 3.5 years.
3.25 years was Testogel sachets, 50mg transdermal testosterone per day. Worked great for 2 years then I gradually stopped absorbing the Testogel.
Testogel then stopped making the sachets & make a pump dispenser now. That didn’t solve the absorption issue at all. In fact I increased the Testogel dose to 80mg each day & had almost deficient free testosterone levels.
The last 2 months I’ve moved to Tostran 2% gel.
I’ve also used new application sites - in my arm pits & inner thighs.
I’m using 80mg of Tostran testosterone per day now.
I’ve not had blood tests on the Tostran yet, will do in 2 weeks. Subjectively I feel great on the Tostran but I’ve changed loadsss of stuff lately that could account for that.
Being UK & using the NHS for now, I’ll probably switch to Nebido 1,000mg injections in October when I next see the endocrinologist.
I’m saving up for private treatment however, so will probably eventually move to testosterone enanthate injections.
Testogel started making the satchets again, I know because when I was on testogel (currently on testosterone enanthate and if I was on anything else I wouldnt disclose it so I’m leaving it to the readers IMAGINATION) and they stopped making the satchets I was given the pump, then I was put back on the satchets because they had them in stock again, however that is a mute point is testogel stopped working for you.
I can’t advise whether or not you should go on nebido, I was offered nebido but I turned the offer down as I don’t believe it is very effective given the injection intervals.
If you don’t mind me asking, what were your testosterone levels like prior to trt and around what levels are you aiming for/ have no symptoms and feel great at?
Oh snap. 270.2 today.
Pre TRT:
I’m 41 years old & my blood work pre TRT in Dec 2014 was as follows:
Serum free testosterone: 213 pmol/L (range 243 - 571 pmol/L )
Serum testosterone: 14 nmol/L (range 11.4 - 27.9 nmol/L )
Serum SHBG: 47 nmol/L ( range 18 - 54 nmol/L )
Serum albumin: 50g/L ( range 35 - 52 g/L )
TRT levels where I felt very good:
Serum free testosterone: 461 pmol/L (range 243 - 571 pmol/L )
Serum testosterone: 22.6 nmol/L (range 11.4 - 27.9 nmol/L )
Serum SHBG: 32 nmol/L ( range 18 - 54 nmol/L )
Serum albumin: 50g/L ( range 35 - 52 g/L )
However there’s not been just one factor in my wellbeing. It’s all been holistic.
However TRT has been a springboard to have the energy to do all the other stuff that’s got me healthy - fitness, diet, changing jobs to something meaningful, better friends through the energy to do proper hobbies, voluntary work.
Pre TRT I didn’t have the physical energy or decent enough mental health to stick at the things that were beneficial.
Actually pre TRT I spent 2 hours each evening having a power nap because my energy was always so low.
What T levels I’d like now? To see how I am with Free Testosterone in the upper quartile.
I’d also like to see how fit I can get, if I can keep improving mobility & old niggles through that level of Free Testosterone + getting into rock climbing, lots of physical labour, more kick boxing. I’m defo looking for vibrant health
@mrmeeseeks so sadly no ore trt numbers for me. I started cycling in my mid twenties through med school and have been on since haha. I blast and cruise. Cruise dosages of 300 a week get me around TT 1700 and FT around 50. My cycling gets me around TT of 5-6k. No matter what my dose i keep my liver healthy. TUDCA, NAC, curcumin and fish oil. That alone keeps any bad side effects GONE. I never use an AI - EVER.
I bet AAS helped with the energy for med school studying! All the college girls though + AAS, holy shit that must’ve been fun!!
You are what you eat & drink! Junk in, junk out & all that.
I’d not heard of TUDCA, cheers will look that up.
TUDCA is my go to supplement for liver health. For sure man check it out! Yea when I graduated med school I was a about 240 and lean as hell haha. I love all things hormones man. They’re so fun. @mrmeeseeks
How hard was it to find the time for lifting and such during med school? I am starting my science prereqs for PA school, with the intention of applying in 2020. I know it is an intense program (similar to med school although shorter), and lifting has always been my sanity. When work and life in general prevented me from hitting the gym the way I wanted, those were the times I can point back and say my stress levels definitely increased (probably increased due to the scheduling that kept me out of the gym, but stayed that way because I didn’t have that outlet).
Anyway, I am guessing even with the intensive class and studying schedule you were able to get some work done (or at least maintain)?
@boatguy so here is a true story man. I’ve always been athletic and into lifting (age 12). I trained pretty hard through undergrad and then went through a rough period my junior year. A girl I had been dating turned out to be a literal text book narcissist and did some work on me haha. I derailed and stopped training for a few months and hit the bottle pretty hard. One day my older brother comes to hang out and he drives me to a hardcore gym in Columbus. We walk in and he looks around and buys me a membership. We walk outside and I’m like wth is this about man and he said “smashing iron is way cheaper than booze, pills, and therapists” and then he gets in his car and leaves me there. that very moment is when I began to smash the iron instead of “working out”. Phew ok.
So to answer your question yes I always found time for lifting.i got big and jacked and met my wife who is the center of my world (and she’s super hot wink wink). It’s my therapy. You can do it too man. Get in there and become the best PA there is. Then find me :).
You’re in the right business ! It sounds like loving fast cars, so getting an apprenticeship on a Formula 1 team… then building your own car & team hehe
You seem EXTREMELY smart and knowledgeable about hormones and I don’t mean any offense by this, but every endo I have been to has been absolutely horrible. They just do not understand the body, the endocrine system, and are just frankly idiots about TRT, thyroid, and adrenals. I ended up getting my TRT, adrenal and thyroid support from a naturopath. What is your opinion on other endocrinologists?
Sadly you aren’t wrong. There’s an awful lot of backwards ass endos just like in every other profession. It’s important to take a look at the individual. For instance I wouldn’t ever want a fat trainer to give my sister advice haha. Yet people hire fat ass trainers all day. Look at the endo. I’ve seen absolutely fat disgusting endos which basically ruins their validity to me off the bat.
Do you take on/ treat patients that blast and cruise or run their own cycles? Asking because most doctors I know would literally flip shit if they found out a patient was using anabolic steroids… Stigmatisation is so high here I legitimately think guys addicted to ice are viewed more in favor… It’s an absolute obstruction of justice and I hope it changes, it’s almost as if steroids are the reefer madness of this generation.
I went to one endo that was in great shape. I was super sick at the time because my adrenals stopped producing cortisol. She came in and sat on the table next to me and talked to me like I was a 5 year old when I knew more about hormones than her. She said “Your body doesn’t need cortisol” and “Your body can produce testosterone so you are fine”. Meanwhile my number was 125 when the range was 400-1200. Basically the same thing happened at multiple endos. Long story short almost died. So when I think endo, I think stupid people. But that was just from past experience, you have restored my faith that some endos are good and know what they are talking about.

Steroid users probably spend less money on booze & Prozac ![]()
Bro, check this out.
Remember I asked you if you thought Tumeric/Curcumin was causing me to tank me E2?
Curcumin inhibits endometriosis endometrial cells by reducing estradiol production
No supplements had changed besides the introduction of Tumeric/Curcumin daily, at a high dose. I’m fairly certain I figured out the issue. Never heard this one before though. Discontinuation of the turmeric resolved the issue as well.
With Nebido, I was thinking if I went private - I’d buy the multi use 4ml vials myself.
I could then self inject 1ml of Nebido every 2.5 weeks…
Possible solution to the long injection intervals? On the face of it, that seems like a great solution
Have you seen this done @physioLojik please?
Yea man anything that helps liver health decreases estradiol. Great find !!! @anon10035199
