CW and Neuroscience

Chad Waterbury I know that you are doing your PhD in neuroscience and I have to say that you are crazy man! I’m taking medical neuroscience right now and this stuff is killing me.

Oh well, back to studying Weigert stained brain stem cross sections.

Any of the rest of the doctors and med students on here feel free to join me in my “I hate neuroscience” rant.

Bah…

Dude quit talking like that. I have to take neuro soon, you’re making me nervous.

EXACTLY! I HATE neuroscience! And the anatomy of the head and neck

i’m a neuroscience minor and i’m taking the 2nd half of the intro class right now and it seems pretty interesting so far…

hate neurosci?

IMPOSSIBLE!

did it for my undergrad, doing it for my grad. the only thing i hated about neuro is the crack profs that i got trying to tell me how to fail!

good luck.

Hmmm…I got my PhD in neuroscience and do epilepsy research…the key is not to be a medical student, then you dont have to learn all the anatomy off by heart…

and btw, - isnt CW spezializing in human physiology ?

Yes, I remember not liking neuroanatomy in med school. It’s more interesting now reading MRIs where the knowledge is relevant.

For learning the anatomy there is a programmed text you may find helpful.

Neuroanatomy: A Programmed Text
by Richard L. Sidman, Murray Sidman

Yes it is 400 years old, but check out the amazon reviews.

Scott

I actually find neuroscience interesting, it’s just all the rote memorization of slides, arterial supplies, etc. that I find frustrating.

Yes, the head and neck anatomy also sucks, that test nearly cost me an A in gross anatomy.

Yeah, I guess CW is doing his PhD in physiology but I remember him saying some stuff about neuroscience (which when you get past the anatomy part is all physiology anyway) when he had a forum for a week.

Neuroscience test tomorrow from 1-5 and then Spring break starts!
