Good news is it was a solid session that will promote strength and growth. I’m primed for a big boost in strength once I pound some calories consistently.

Aw hell, we’re old…pound away. I’ve decide to put all the work I usually put into dieting down for the summer into increasing my 4 lifts…which means I won’t be removing my shirt this summer…like it matters anyways!!!
Dude, your volume puts mine to shame -we are the same age, I eat more than you, I’d be sleeping 12 hours a day if I worked out half as hard, half as often, as you do. If you have a secret to recovery, please share.
And for the record, I don’t subscribe to the getting fat to get strong theory, because there’s always gonna be a Meat or a Harry out there somewhere, and when I run into one, that’s what I’m a’gonna do -run!

High Paused Squat to pins (Pin 6 - 4" abv parallel)
230x3
280x3
320x3
360x1
400x1 (90% stop here)
Pullups or chest-supported row and curls tomorrow.
Solid session. Kept it short and light on the oly stuff and squats to give myself some recovery. I like the split snatches, but the timing is tricky. I can’t do squat snatches since I don’t have enough shoulder flexibility and won’t develop it by April 2nd. The split snatches let me stay upright enough to where I don’t have to rotate my arm to a greater degree. Nice little blister on the right ring finger. Had to wrap it in tape to the snatches.
Bench is ridiculous now. My close grip bench has now passed my straight bench. Rather than fight it, I’ll just bench this way for the meet in 3 weeks.

My Son, the secret to recovery is coffee.
And cigarettes.[/quote]
That is what I’m missing. I’ll have to talk to the wife about it.
Finally got two weeks in a row, now that I’m lifting again, this Wednesday will make three in a row.
But the push-ups have done wonders for my rotator cuffs.
