Oh boy, yes.
thanks for sharing the link; I found it interesting to listen to Glassman. He’s a fanatic, whether you think that’s good or bad.

That was interesting. Dude has made some money and has a set of balls with the things he does. No doubt.
Idaho, that was really interesting.
Some of you might like this clip of Christmas Abbott. I’ve been reading her book. She’s 5’3, 115 to 120 lbs of athleticism.
Women don’t need to strive for this level of muscle or athleticism, but I’d rather have my daughter look to this as an ideal, than what we have going on in the figure/bikini world these days. A big part of the message to girls and young women is “breast implants are required if you want to be pretty.” I’m all for these Crossfit women bucking that trend.
Glassman looks like he takes a lot of oxycodone

Jesus, she’s in Raleigh?!? Hell yeah!

The moderators should ban anyone who didn’t like that.
Did you see that joker toss a medicine ball in the air, then go to do a squat thrust, and the medicine ball falls on his neck? I was watching NFL with my has-been, former high school athlete bros. We had a good laugh.
Speaking of Christmas, did you guys see when she went to Sweden and the Elieko staff Olympic Weightlifting coach put her through a workout? You could tell she was used to being treated one day, and that was not dude’s coaching style.

I just watched it and I disagree. She’s used to knowing what she needs to know and Anders Lindsjo confronted her with her weak points and did it in a Zen-like manner. That threw her off a bit, understandably. But she didn’t bitch about it, it just showed in her body language.
Totally fair hawks.
I really enjoyed the video, and I had never seen one like it before. It’s had a big impact on my own workouts the last 6-8 months. I should probably watch it again.
She totally adjusted, and she didn’t whine. But you said yourself that it showed! The cool part was how she totally “got” what Lindsjo wanted her to understand by the end.
But 100%, my post came across as a dig on cross fit, and an attack on an inspirational, skilled althete. Sorry.

Well, I was the one who read it this way, so no apology is needed. I used to really bash crossfit like there was no tomorrow until I realised that it’s become so big and diverse that bashing crossfit is like bashing powerlifting, bodybuilding - whatever criticism you have won’t apply to all. I have some crossfitters at my gym and a few of them are incredibly strong, at least for their weight.
Every gym has better and more varied equipment since cross fit.
They get around when it comes to working with different techniques and coaches, and they put out lots of info.
The socks and doo rags make me chuckle. The way they drop stuff on themselves makes me worry.

She’s more attractive than Greg Glassman, IMO.
That guy’s personality is a little like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Well, yes. Of course. Goes without saying.
No one in their right mind disagrees.
Say what you like about crossfit, it has acted as an incredible feeder system for powerlifting. It has mainstreamed lifting for a lot of people.
Totally. Membership in USA Weightlifting has quadrupled.
Same with strongman. Seeing a lot of folks crossing over from crossfit.
It’s not crossfit itself, it’s the yuppies who have never done anything physical in their lives who do 2 weeks of crossfit; notice the noob gains, and proclaim crossfit the greatest thing since beer and call themselves elite fitness athletes.
Yes other lifters do the same douchey things, but not anywhere near the level of crossfit people.
Also, it’s a gym, calling it a “box” is a clear signal…
end rant/
Overall crossfit is a great thing for getting people who would otherwise not care about fitness, to care about fitness.
