Criticism of Registered Dietitians

I agree. I’m not a fan of Bradley anyway, and this was just fucking stupid.

You’re listing your college courses? Are you kidding? When someone on here questions my knowledge, I don’t run around listing all the literature courses I’ve taken in order to prove that I’m not an idiot.

More bullshit from a constant pain in the ass. Good job Bradley.

That is a bald faced lie, considering that you cannot register two names under the same email on this site.

I am hesitant to violate your privacy, but the language I used in my post reflected the fact two people cannot have the same email address. I said they were essentially the same.

If you and another poster both stated your email address as “genuinem4buxomf@x” and “genuinem4buxomf@y” individually without being the same person, then I would be surprised. Especially since both X and Y are free email providers.

At the same time when responding to TC’s earlier post you corrected his misspelling of “Gumptious” as Gumptuous in your reply.

So, if I am mistaken, then I apologize for the accusation, however, the evidence is very strong. I guess everyone will have to decide for themselves.
Ouch. Called out by TC, then slammed by the Mod.

This one’s done.

If it weren’t for Bradley’s extensive list of credentials, I might have just lost all respect for him.

Oh wait, it was never there in the first place.

Funniest thing since Oogy.

I don’t know how many times I’ve made similar points on these boards.

The field of nutrition is not a walk in the park, partly because it entails so many aspects of feeding and health. Sports nutrition is merely a drop in the bucket of nutrition information, and in my opinion, not even the most interesting.

We should really look beyond your own values when making value judgments.

Some of the most bullshit “info” I have been given came from a dietician with a Phd. She was also VERY overweight. I think, like many professional in the health field, if they have no exposure to exercise, weight lifting or the nutrition surrounding it from PERSONAL experience, you can’t expect them to know a thing about it.
It’s about time someone says something.
X is completely right.
Believe it or not, body building IS a talent.Otherwise everyone would be able to do it.
I think it takes talent for someone to live that kind of life style and to grow like that. Most dieticians don’t see it that way;most dieticians may be educated in the field of nutrition, but PERSONAL EXPERIENCE is the most important factor.

I don’t get this. Who’s a pain in the ass, me or Bradley ?

Haha. No, I agreed with you, and called Bradley a pain in the ass.

Northcott,

Looks like you get a three pointer on this shot!

Not to degrade the high level of intellectual discourse taking place, but I think one word is pretty much able to sum up this entire thread:

 Owned.

T motherfuckin S B

I just wanted to thank everyone(Vroom, Dr. Stig, MikeTheBear, and everyone else) for havin some fun with this guy with me. This is definitely one of the funniest ass threads I’ve read in awhile. And to “Brad,” my identity-challenged schizophrenic friend, shoulda had your flamesuit on! Idiot.

Here is the Guttus Gumptous article posted on EFS. I am a bit surprised that Dave Tate posted it since it lacks substance. If you’re going to criticize someone you had better, first, get your facts straight, and two, state what is wrong with the advice given and offer a better alternative.

http://www.elitefts.com/documents/big_rant.htm

Mr. Set ?n Rep is obviously Chad Waterbury. First, Chad has never said that he invented the 10x3 method. Wait, he did say it, but he said it jokingly. Oh, and 10x3 is not the same as the max effort method; it’s the repetition method. Yes, CW is a big fan of 10x3. But was is so wrong with 10x3? The article never says. It’s just a meaningless rant.

Tommy Tempo probably refers to Chris Thibaudeau. Yes, CT’s routines are very demanding on the CNS. He has said that and is very up front about it. His varying tempo workouts are for an advanced bodybuilder. But CT also knows strength. I’ve tried the accentuated eccentric using weight releasers. Good stuff.

King Shit is probably Poliquin. Do you have any proof of these accusations? Don’t think so.

Don’t know who The Confuser is supposed to be. Charles Staley perhaps? Charles is hardly confusing. EDT is a pretty simple concept. You like simple, don’t you Brad, since you always complain that the routines here are “too complicated?”

The “Big Rant” is about as immature as the rant on this thread.

That piece is daft, but then again I was hard pressed to guess all the people he was on about. Having said that, the way its worded just seems to be an outlet for some frustrations which have built up in this young man that have nothing to do with working out and nutrition.

He’s prob on some porn discussion somewhere complaining about how ‘Hedgehog’ and ‘Steele’ have degraded women and by emulating them he found himself in the clinic.

Are we supposed to be impressed by your undergrad curriculum? Maybe I should post my whole undergrad and graduate classes and also cut/paste a copy of my Ph.D. dissertation too!
I might be interested reading your Ph.D. dissertation, depending on what the material is and if I’ve taken enough classes to comprehend it!

As a side note, I think we should start a, “post your credentials” thread. This all emcompassing thread of everybody’s crendentials will give everybody a good idea of how much everybody knows because as we have already established, classes matter the most. From this thread, we can disregard people that have not taken a substantial amount of classes that sound difficult.

I know, for one, if I wanted to obtain a skill, such as playing basketball and shooting 3 pointers, Lebron James would be terrible to listen to because he never went to college.

That goes for professionals in any field that don’t practice what they preach…

I should but don’t remember where the quote came from but, “The best way to learn something is by doing it.” Always held quite true for me.

Hmm, lets see. According to you, most RD’s work in the following: Nusing Homes, Hospitals, Schools.

Are you on crack? Hospitals have the most disgusting processed crap that I’ve ever had the misfortune of eating. Nursing Home food is just as bad, and school food! Do we even need to go there?

You know what really is stupid? That you have to go through so much schooling only to look good for an organization on paper. Meanwhile, Hospitals and Nursing Homes, etc., will continue to feed people processed crap.

I think your profession needs an enema.

OMG, I can’t believe that I replied without reading the whole thread!

Good Times.

I guess this would count as a failed attempt at getting some respect?

Freakin Hilarious! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a train wreck so completely.

Hold a marshmallow close to the screen…

No one is going to be sentimental to an asshole. Get over it.

And yes, alot of your fellow “RD’s” give out total bullshit constantly. For example, the ones that say “fat is bad and it will make you fat”, and then the ones that say “carbs. are bad and will make you fat”, and the most recent to reach my ears from alot of my fellow high school friends “protein makes you gain fat”.

Pure bullshit. One point they attack a certain macro or micro, then it’s on to the next.

That’s why your field is widely criticized on a bodybuilding site where people commonly understand how idiotic these types of claims are.
