King Mo tested positive as well- and is taking the I’m a clean athlete and its tainted supplements routine.
Is it wrong for me to be so cynical and just want people to simply say- yes I did it.
fine me, suspend me and move on.
strangely him and his manager have not wanted to test the B sample
would’nt you insist on testing it?
On tonight’s episode of, “When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong.”
I like Cyborg the fighter. Pretty sad that the conversation on here always spirals into discussing her appearance.
We had a female Champion training with us at one point. She was the Australian and Oceania champion. SHe was a whirlwind of a fighter, massive pride in what she did, would outwork any male at the gym, had more heart than any of them and she would always bash the hell out of her opponents but in doing so never once walked out of a fight without smashing her own body to beat her opponent.
Amazing fighter. People loved to hate her because they thought she was ‘unfeminine’, a bitch, an attention seeker, a mongrel in the ring and so on. To me, she was just the best female fighter in her weight class in the country and we got along just fine.
WTF do people expect from males or females who are meant to excite them in a sport they supposedly love, ie fighting?
Do people simply not comprehend how insanely inhuman it is to fight? You literally have to force yourself into a mindset that is completey counter productive and against human nature. Your mind has to bend around the concept that another human being wants to hurt you.
Why is Cyborg now being spoken about in a slanderous way about her appearance when anyone that is serious enough about this sport knows that when you fight, male or female you don’t expect to remain a cover model.
Anyway, as much as I like and respect Cyborg, I simply adore Ronda Rousey.
Got to be the prettiest (and nastiest) little thing I have seen on the scene for a while. A beautiful woman that has that much strength and power is a major bonus. Intimidates a lot of guys subconciously… not this one.
Bronze medalist in judo and quickly earning a rep in mma as being the arm taker or the one minute girl, she excites me in more ways than just fighting.
Her skill is what impresses me most. Sure she’s not as well rounded as other female fighters but she knows who she is and she does what she does so well that she doesn’t need to be as well rounded.
Sure, she’s pretty, well spoken and a great athlete but why are people so surprised that if they aren’t so pretty, well spoken or well rounded.
Funny thing is she get’s along well with the Diaz bros et al.
Real fighters get each other. It’s mostly the fans that want to bring up all these tangential issues.
Here’s Ronda…

To fight is not at all “inhuman.” It’s called “flight or fight” for a reason. Adrenaline and instincts kick in and you do one or the other. The “inhuman” thing to do is freeze. That’s what happens when you are busy bending your mind around the concept you mentioned. Most tend to do one or the other of the previously mentioned responses.
No, you’re just describing a response mechanism which can for some people be non existant and hence the freeze you mentioned but no human being is wired to just walk around putting themself in harms way. It is a trained condition. Soldiers aren’t born, they become so out of necessity and/or conditioning both mental and physical. Likewise fighting is the same.
Ronda’s hot.
And I’d like to learn more Judo.
That is some crazy old school Judo!!!
I think I knew it was her mom - and kinda had a brain fart
and sadly way way better rules back then.
I like Rounsey, I dislike the shit talk.
but how else can you hype a fight.
I also dont like Rounsey strange way of calling taps- with questionable taps.

Whatever happened to the let the fighting talk for itself?
Kinda frustrates me that you have to become like Chael Sonnen to get any notice these days. guys that keep their mouth shut seem to get overlooked in this tweet and youtube age. i was never a fan of it with the older boxers and wont be with MMA. Punch the other person in the face tap them out and go on to the next one. You dont need to tell me your great or your opponent sucks.

Fucking irritating.
Hopefully, whoever will ref her next fight, will keep an eye on the opponent’s reaction and not cater to Rounsey’s delusions.

Chael Sonnen has at least, a great fighting record behind him.
Rounsey just got into MMA and I already see her as one-trick pony. Can’t wait for a striker to viciously punish her with a series of head kicks.

Nope, punches. She crouches, tucks her chin, and bullrushes while grabbing/stiff arming. Head kicks would probably work FOR Rousey because I could see her just bowling the kicker over. Punches on the other hand, she will run her damn face into those with that style.
Of course she may be more polished and just doesn’t show it in the first minute.

I do believe she trains, at times, with the Brothers Diaz. I imagine she knows how to throw, slip, or take a punch or two. While shit-talking can be bothersome, she’s bringing a bit more exposure to the ladies’ side of the house. That can’t be denied. Miesha Tate, while good and pretty, doesn’t do a whole lot to sell the fight. That has been lacking since Carano left. That’s why I’m not going to hate on Rousey too much.
To add to what I was talking about: excerpt from Yahoo.
He may be the UFC?s most disliked fighter besides Bisping, but he?s in a league of his own when it comes to selling a bout.
And in a business that relies on selling tickets, getting television ratings and convincing folks to plunk $45 a month to buy a pay-per-view, a guy like Sonnen is invaluable.
In that regard, he?s correct: He is, by far, the best there is.
It?s another win for the head of Chael Sonnen Promotions.
Shit, even the legend that is Bas Rutten thinks Santos LOOKED like she was on steroids:
“On Cristiane Santos testing positive for an anabolic steroid: ?You could say it doesn?t come as a surprise. I don?t think anybody was surprised, but I always say ? you?d better [be] 100-percent sure that you know something before you say it. If I say, ?Oh, she?s on steroids? – I could never say that. ? But yeah, she does have the looks from it. She?s unbelievably strong. For a woman she just looks very, very extreme muscular, even more so than bodybuilders.”
Bas Rutten is somewhat ignorant when it comes to steroids. He tends to crusade against them, and in doing so says stuff that is just plain wrong.
He also doesn’t know shit about bodybuilding, lol.
Everyone on this board knows that Cyborg’s physique shouldn’t have been what was raising eyebrows.

This says it all, really. Hell, Megumi Fujii has an impressive physique, too, now that I think of it. I lost my train of thought on that one, so I’ll stop there. More coffee needed.

So much hate…
That’s ok, got heaps of love for Rousey.
If it was uncommon for her to end her fights in that manner, your arguement would be plausible but I didn’t see overwhelming complaint from her opponent. Looked like she was half assed about complaining and knew she’d have that arm ripped off otherwise.
Anyway, as mentioned, she’s stopped people in the same manner one too many times before for her to be looked at with disdain.
We’ll see how she fares up in future fights but she could get bashed for all I care and still much love… she’s just too cute

Bas Rutten, I so agree with you. Santos definitely reminded me of them women. I hear ya, BROO!!!
