Cris 'Cyborg' Santos Tests Positive for PEDs

She is still a pretty woman to me. I’d hit it. And let it hit me back. HAHAHA!![/quote]

The magic of make-up.

ah i’m being unfair, she brushes up nicely:

There is certainly that. I can also understand thinking that the majority of the fighters who fight in Japanese promotions are “on”, because they can be.

Current US rules/standards seem to point to a “on fight night you should not be abnormally high” definition of PED’s, with a clumsy and only partially enforced use of “random” testing before the fight. If “random” testing were taken seriously than Overeem would not have been in the ring against Brock, since he delayed his sample for a time citing personal issues.

In this circumstance, I fault her for getting caught. Seems like Winstrol would be a dumb choice to use. I also wonder if some of the “tainted supps” argument translates as “Damn it. This was a designer steroid that was supposed to be undetectable. Instead it was just Winny and Anavar with a different label!”

I just don’t see Cyborg as being any worse than others.

The allowing of TRT really clouds this issue as well. I personally don’t think that it is intellectually honest to allow one fighter to use AAS to counter the effects of age/training wear and tear while claiming others can’t. We have people on this board who say “punchers are born, not made” well, I ONLY want to put enough lead in my gloves to bring me up to a “very hard natural” level of punching power. Also, I would like a helmet, but just enough to mimic a “great chin”. After all, I ain’t no cheater.

Wow, now that’s the xombat forum thread equivalent of “a chinese punching bag falls over”.

Am I the only guy who finds a not-too-juiced-up-Cyborg kinda sexy?

No. Robert A has shown some tremendous interest too.

I will add my name in there as well. she has her moments where she is a pretty girl. i think its hard to be pretty when your job is to punch someone in the face. Obviously during cuts and training she aint gonna be Mrs Brazil. but when she dresses up and does her make up shes pretty hot.

and for the real stuff I dont enjoy watching her fight and its no fault of hers. I wanna see close contested fights and she just steamrolls people. I am not a fan of watching one person just getting there ass kicked. Until another woman can bring a strong enough ability to contend with her I am not gonna jazzed up for her fights.

I hear ya.

I see where the issue with some people is. However you get the same overpowering situation during men’s fights. I must say there are fighters that I’m fan of and I hate to see them getting pounded by a much stronger, powerful opponent. But that’s the sad and raw nature of MMA. Someone is always guaranteed to get his ass steamrolled, lol.

The only thing I don’t agree with is the idea that it should be any different with women’s MMA.

In that video the commenter suggests that the fight should be stopped because Jan is getting beaten too much. Whaaat? You rarely hear this kinda stuff when a male fighter is being smacked around by a much powerful opponent. Why the fuck should it be any different with women?

Jan was awesome in this fight. I loved how while she was getting beaten, she never gave up. She fought back as hard as she could. Lasted 2 rounds. And I respect her for that. And yet, there were the fucking over protective comments to have the fight stopped and the crowd booing and all. Fuck’s sake! It’s bloody MMA.

She could take it, otherwise she wouldn’t have stepped in the ring in the first place or trained to be a fighter. Those girls don’t need to be protected from cyborg’s blows. Cyborg may be a machine but she ain’t invincible. If some of them spent less time focusing on their look and trained/worked more on being stronger/better warriors, Cyborg would have a hard time beating them, with or without drugs.

Lol, I don’t know, I’m probably just saying this maybe because I’m a big Cyborg’s fan and also maybe because cyborg reminds me a little bit of me when I use to fight. I was much younger and didn’t care about the state of my face or how pretty I was. And when fighting, I always went for the kill.

I just don’t think that female MMA should be some kind of ‘‘softcore’’ wrestling action and that people should be outraged that a stronger woman pummels her opponent about. It’s war. Rwaaaaaar!!!

I dont care if its male or female. One sided fights suck. whats the point of even having them so you can build up one persons career? This isnt pro wrestling where you have squash matches this is supposed to be fighting and at the top level padding records should no longer be done.

I wanna see warriors go at it not one warrior and a cupcake. with women being a man I do kinda find it weird to watch one woman get destroyed. Call it my sense of chivalry but I dont wanna see a girl getting bashed in more than a guy. With a guy I can go what a dumb ass for getting in there with a girl its like oh stop this crap.

as for the sex appeal its there. Whenever you get half dressed people doing athletic things the sexual overtones will be there. Women that have watched MMA with me comment on the fighters bodies all the time and I just laugh. Its not different and its really not a biggie. People tend to find strong people with alot of passion desirable and you need those two things to fight.

I for one like seeing girls beating the crap out of each other.

It’s a refreshing change from the usual, fragile/sensitive, image women in Asia tend to project.

Chicks like Cyborg and Carano know what they’re signing up for. Let them get beat up. It’s like a cat fight taken to the other level.

Also, what’s wrong with a one sided fight? Silva/Leben? Silva/Franklin? Silva/Chael? Lyoto/Rashad? Diaz/Cerrone? Reem/Lesnar? Diaz/Penn?

Ehehehe, maybe you should probably not watch any female MMA fight then? 'Cos I don’t know what you expect to see. It’s not about girls joyfully wrestling in baby oil then fucking each other at the end. Lol. They’re fighters and they’re going for blood. And if one of them happens to be weaker than the other, then she’ll get her ass handed to her.

As for one sided fights, you’ll always get cupcakes (sorry I’m taking your word here :)) and warriors. Warriors will be champions and, cupcakes… well, they will be eaten alive. Either that, or come out stronger and morph into champions themselves. Most popular fighters have been in one sided fights at some point in their career. That never stopped them reaching the top. Even the Beast Overeem got his ass whooped by Shogun twice and by Werdum too. And he still rules .

In terms of interest?

There is a bit of a difference between Silva vs Franklin (the first time, where people gave Franklin a chance), Lyoto vs Rashad, Diaz vs Cerrone, etc. and say Fedor vs Fujita, Hong Man Choi, Lindland, TK, etc. or Wand vs Japan et al. I can understand someone who says they would rather watch a close contest between two lesser fighters than a one sided destruction by the best in the world. I don’t say it. I like Mayweather vs Ortiz. Who the hell thought that was anything but one-sided?

In Chris Cyborg’s case it is going to be tough to find someone to match her style until another female fighter comes along with a style that foils the Chute Boxe formula. A good wrestler/grappler with a good to great chin, terrific top control, and hard punches should do it. It has worked in the past against Wand, Shogun, and Ninja. The issue is Cyborg is just plain better than most every women her size. If Carrano could have used angles, her clinch work, and not elected to give up the mount all while not gassing/being run into the ground by Cyborg it might have been a different story. The problem is that stuff is really tough to do when you are getting hit, and getting punched in the face is pretty damn tiring.

Robert A

Ultimate surrender is pretty cool. Not my fav but cool enough.

Guess its part of my way not to wanna see a chick get bashed. It happens and I know they are fighters but still dont enjoy watching them get absolutely smashed.

I prefer hard fought fights over guys getting bashed. The Reem/lesner fight you can kinda throw out because at that size one guy is gonna get knocked out. You know its coming just from the sheer size of these guys.

I understand they know what they are signing up for and i love the contested womens fights as they tend to go back and forth like crazy and the level of them is getting better and better. But watching Cyborg just annilahate another woman doesnt do it for me.

It’s weird looking back at that fight. I rewatched it a few weeks ago and can honestly say I don’t remember Gina being that competitive. It almost looks like she couldn’t handle the pace and gassed/gave in. I do remember scoffing at the sloppy takedowns, heheh. Cyborg basically pulled Gina into mount twice.

That aside, when Ronda Rousey rips Meisha Tate a new… ugh, disturbing image, nevermind… who gives her a chance against the Cyborg.

I just read thru this entire thread and my feelings run along the line of: OWN YOUR MISTAKE! Simple as that. I am not going to judge you on your usage of the PED, but when you start weaving these annoying stories, I can’t help but raise an eye-brow.

Cyborg has always looked powerful to me. Her physicality and features say nothing to me, as far as PED goes. I’ve met many men and women who were pretty damned stacked. Some from putting in work, and some just naturally. My 14 y/o daughter is naturally tall and muscled, and it takes an act of GOD for me to get her to pull her off the couch or out of bed!! Now, when she does get going, she is like her mother…100% pure aggression and GO! That’s how I see Cyborg. She just needs to own up to her mistake.

A fight with Ronda Rousey will be EPIC!!!

And I would sooooo fight to keep Cyborg IN my bed!! Same for Ronda and Miesha and Marloes…

Oh yeah, I’d like to see a fight between Cyborg and Ronda and I do hope Cyborg assrapes the shit out of Ronda. Ronda maybe a fellow Judoka but I just can’t stand pretty girls who call other females ‘men’ just because they aren’t as hot or soft looking as them.

Can’t wait for next year and I’ll be in the arena cheering for Santos when she pounds Ronda like mash potato. Hell yeah!!

I find it funny how Ronda talks shit about Cyborg now that she knows that Santos can’t fight any more. Let’s see next year when the shit gets real. She’ll be pissing and shitting her pants when standing in front of that machine. And since Cyborg has a dick, according to Ronda, I really hope Cyborg uses it on Ronda for a brutal anal beat up.

Lol.
