Yea because a 13yo outlier who steals his dads shotgun is totally the same as a 7-yo who writes you’re a dead man. Because it’s totally the same shooting someone or saying you’re dead / i wish you would die. Because everybody who’s ever said that has ended killing someone… geez.
Next time you play with 1st graders you probably call the cops when they point at you with a toy gun and shoot. Cuz its fuken craze bro. Better call some backup too

I get that you’re trolling here, but in reality, I’m just laying out that I’m concerned about the child’s future actions, not his current ones.
And if there are serious issues, I have heard that getting help early on is better than waiting until life has gotten away from them
So nothing relatively new here. We have kind of been thinking backwards to this incident and that looking for clues, but then I think at this point our point of view is warped and we’re seeing what we want to and attaching significance to that which might not be significant otherwise.
Really, I’m just trying to think about things and connect some dots. All I’ve come up with so far is that something must have happened about two years ago to make the kid draw inward severely, because previously he had been very outgoing and normal.
There was a dead squirrel in her driveway a couple of months ago, and she was freaked out when she saw it because it was in what one might call an odd place in the driveway (away from the street), but I don’t know that it has any significance. He may have moved it, he may have killed it, it could have fallen off the wires or died however squirrels die.
There seems to be a decapitation thread also - drawing the plastic sword across the neck, the decapitated stick figures drawn in the driveway - that seems to fascinate him. Which is interesting to me also because that’s not just killing; that’s mutilation.
As usual, I could just be reading too far into this, and it’s just some fucked up kid stuff that’s going to go away. I am more intrigued than anything at this point…

Autoerotic asphyxiation claims another young squirrel.
When are they going to learn?
Well, thanks to the internet and news/current interest on both the middle east and northern Mexico I am not so sure that finding out about decapitation is as rare for today’s 7 year old as it was for us. Think how often you have seen “beheading” in print vs 20 years ago.
It is entirely possible that part of this has to do with seeing something and not being able to process it. In that case getting the kid some help really may solve a lot. Also why I am glad you are looking at it the way you are with trigger/warning signs. You can and will act to your better angels…until you can’t anymore.
If you haven’t read Kite Runner, read it up to the only part that anyone that has read the book talks about (you’ll know when you get there). Be mindful of this.

I’m a wizard. What can I say? That I’m a wizard? I already said that.
