Anyone here tried Creatine Ethyl Ester? I’ve read some good things about it, but want to know more. Curious to hear some opinions on it, whether you?ve tried it or have any knowledge about it.
this product gave me the most significant visible effect of any product I’ve done in many years…including all prohormones…
I used VPX’s CEX
It’s really a cool theory: making the creatine hydrophobic so it passes through cell membrane as opposed to using the transporter. From this, it is supposed to have “up to 40X greater absorption”. This in turn will theoretically allow lower dosages to be consumed yet still see effects, less creatine bloat, and no conversion to creatinine.
Problems:
-
It’s supposed to be lipophilic yet most companies suggest mixing the stuff with water. (Haven’t they heard that oil and water don’t mix)
-
Up to 40X greater absorption? So this means in stead of putting on 3 lbs of water with normal creatine, I’d put on 120lbs? (Look out Ronnie!)
-
They claim that you can use less creatine when it’s ethyl esterified, yet each serving contains 2-3 grams of the stuff, which is the same dosage you need with regular creatine. The only difference is that they charge you a lot more for it. Oh, and you may need multiple doses per day. (Smooth)

WTF is creatine bloat? Okay, I know people have all kinds of crazy made up reactions from taking supplements, but this is ridiculous. (Hey, can I make up fake side effects too?)
-
Again using the literature, conversion to creatinine is not a significant concern. (I got Dutch Elm disease from taking creatine)
-
There are too many BIG questions about this stuff, like: how does it deal with being absorbed by the lymphatic system, where the hell did their reported numbers come from, and if the theory holds, wouldn’t it allow every cell in the body to start absorbing this stuff in a concentration dependent manner? (No really, Dutch Elm disease. My leaves turned all black and everything!)
-
Testimonials for new supplements are about as reliable as pre-Iraq intelligence data (except for my Dutch Elm disease).
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Creatine Ethyl Ester…(eye roll).
I love supplements.
I’m sure that a lack of this supplement is the reason most athletes aren’t reaching their goals.
And before this supplement, there were never any really strong or big guys.
It must be what I’ve been mising for the last 17 years.
