The main guy, Prabhu Deva, is known around the world as “India’s Michael Jackson”.
I cried laughing at the dance these guys do. Amusing at the least.

India’s Michael Jackson… huh.
All right…
That was pretty cool.
Zen
And, for the record, that ending had was more dramatic than the last season of the surreal life. Not that I’d know, or anything…
His female Indian dance partner is a fox.
THIS is the real indian michael jackson (might be the same guy)

I agree. She is pretty hot in that video.
This should be in the “douchebags with hot chicks” thread. Indian women are hot.
Its an old low budget B movie, Prabhu Deva is a B actor.
Just to educate you a little we have ‘Bollywood’ that is the main stream high budget movie industry with all the A list stars and then we have regional movie industries, which make movies in their respective regional language, like Punjabi films up north in the state of Punjab and Tamil Films down south in the state of Tamil Nadu etc.
The link you posted is a ‘South Indian’ B flick… they are speaking their regional language not hindi.
Prabhu Deva was popular among the Southern people in the last decade, you will find people up north who wouldnt even know who he is.
I hope you wont use this B flick as a model for all Bollywood Movies. All though this movie can be classified as ‘Indian’ its a low budget regional movie. Only Bollywood movies which are in Hindi are watched by all Indians.
India is very complicated…
There are:
325 languages spoken ? 1,652 dialects 18 official languages
29 states, 5 union territories
1.3 Billion people.
So what Im trying to say is, that there is alot of regionalism, things that are popular in one part of India, aren’t in another…
If I was in a room with a North Indian and a South Indian (I’m Central Indian) and they were each speaking in their respective language, we wouldnt be able to understand each other, not only that… we would all look different as well, South Indians being a lot darker and North Indians bieng lighter with light eyes.
So basically although the above movie could be classified as ‘Indian’… it isnt a mainstream ‘Bollywood’ Flick… nor are the actors well known and Prabhu Deva isnt the ‘Indian’ Michael Jackson… lol, he is just a regional actor popular among South Indians.
Some newer but still old music videos, probably wont be your kinda thing, I guess you have to be Indian to like it…
( ^ I put this one up, because the chick in the lead is an Indian Muslim… Indian muslims on the whole are very very very liberal and dont stand out at all. I’ve lived in Mumbai for 6 years and England for 15 years and I can honestly say, I have seen more traditional stereotypical muslim women (hijab, burqa) in a weekend out in London, than I have seen in the 6 years I was in India (a country with 150 million muslims)
(^ Pretty Lead singers)
(^ She’s beautiful)
(^ Cute girls in skimpy clothes… lol)
(^ Alternative music… pretty lead singer)
( ^ Another cute chick)
I just want to see more of that chick. She was pretty hot
amazing video
You mean he isnt India’s answer to Michael Jackson?!
Damn you Wikipedia!

Lol… sorry pal, he isnt hehe… thing about wikipedia is I could log on and say that I was India’s answer to Michael Jackson…the info on the site, is just the contribution of ordinary people, nothing official.
He was very popular among the South (because he is south Indian) and he did dance alot like Michael Jackson, hence the nickname… but its not like he is a mega star known all over the continent.
But hey to cheer you up… have a look at some Kamasutra!.. ![]()

In bollywood yes, but outside of Bollywood he is an A actor and commands a good following.

He was in Pukar
I hope everyone does because thats what the movies are like. They are all the same shit. In Tamil Nadu (the language of this vid) actually has GOOD movies about 4 or 5 a year (out of the hundereds) and Malayalam flicks are equally good (Tamil Nadu copies some of those flicks). The same cannot be said about bollywood films because they tend to outright plagiarize Western films.
Naseeruddin Shah on the matter.

This is also patently false and stereotypical. Similar to saying that all Hispanics are skinny, short and swarthy but that Venezulans are well built, well groomed and don’t smell like donkey shit.
I’m 6’ 2" and slightly dark too (you left out short stature). But I’ve met North Indians with EXACTLY THE SAME COMPLEXION. My sister (she is 5’ 10" btw) and my mother are so fair that they are confused for Hispanics. My Grandfather’s brother has blue eyes, my mothers cousin has green eyes and is fair, my cousins (men included) are as fair as my sister and mother and have brown eyes.
There are more examples in other South Indian communities. They don’t look South Indian. From a persons name is really the best way to gauge where they are from, not appearances.

Hey man… I didn?t think there were other Indians on the forum, nice to meet you!
Yea true, but I was specifically referring to Bollywood pal and I did say that he is popular among the South Indians more than once ![]()
I don’t get to see many South Indian flicks because I cant understand the language… but when they are dubbed in hindi I do watch them.
I’m sure you would appreciate this ![]()
Yea he was… good film Madhuri Rocks, you must understand, I didn’t want to get into the intricacies of Indian cinema on a mostly American forum, I was just trying to explain things in layman’s terms.
Well yea I can’t disagree with that, Naseeruddin Shah makes a valid point, but you have to understand pal, that with 70% of the population living in rural areas, Bollywood film makers make films geared towards that audience, simple stupid song and dance routine films are the ones that make the most money in our country because they cater to the intelligence levels of the rural population.
Good quality films just won’t make them the bucks because only the urban population would go to see them.
Nonetheless Guru, Black, Range de Basanti, Lagaan were good films man ![]()
Most of the Anglo Indian, freedom fighting movies are good too
And if you are into the gangster movies check out Ab tak Chappan, Company, Shiva, Apharan etc
Not to mention comedy films like Hungama, Hera Pheri etc
I don’t know anything about the Hispanics and Venezulans pal, but their women are hot man!.
There are always exceptions to the rule buddy, but you can at least agree that on the whole North Indians are lighter skinned as compared to our South Indian counter parts right?..
And I never said that there is anything wrong in being ‘dark’… we are a nation of darker skinned people.
I didn’t know there was a variation in height as you travel from the north to the south Im 6’2" aswell, my father is 6’1", my mother is 5’6" and my sister is 5’8".
Yea like I said, there are exceptions to the rule,… heck look at Aishwariya… she is South Indian and she has green eyes
My father is Maratha and my mother is from the South (Konkan) both my mother and sister are much lighter than I am. My sister has green eyes and just like your sister, over here in England, she gets confused for everything but an Indian lol.
My dad is lighter than me too and so is my grandfather, they get confused for middle easterners sometimes, me on the other hand, I look 100% Indian… I have brown eyes too.
Yea I know buddy, but like I said, I didn’t want to get into the complexities of our people on a mostly American forum, they won’t be able to tell the difference between a Shetty and Patel etc.
You’ve taken this a little personally and I can understand why, looking back at my post, it is a little stereotypical… I wasn’t trying to make it sound like Northerners are better than the Southerners or Bollywood Films are the best etc… we are all Indians… period.
However I was just a little fed up, with random people uploading olllld Indian movie clips (Bollywood and Southern Flicks) and then ridiculing them on sites like youtube, metacafe etc So I just wanted to point out that not ALL movies are like this and not all Indian actors are mainstream Bollywood ones that’s all
I hope this clears things up
Peace

Its not about being black or white, I am just trying to stop the spread of misinformation. I hear this same shit all the fucking time and when it hits the internet it tends to automatically become truth. “More information less knowledge” (Prof X)
Aishwarya and I are from the same locale which is why I am I am cooler than thou.
I ignore the other posts for the same reason I ignore whenever someone posts asking about NO2 supps or Vitex or other money sinks.
PS.
Thats a grand total of 2 Indians on T-Nation.
