Crashed my ferritin from donating. Ferritin was 8 before last donation

Been lowering my dose to make my doctor happy and donating blood. I know now not a good plan. Currently on 100mg of testosterone cypionate split into shots on Monday Wednesday Friday and Saturday.

I have had hematocrit in the past of 60. Last cbc yesterday show 51. After lowering dose from 120mg. My doctor will be okay with that when I see him next month.

The problem is I’m ready to get off the donation merry go round or at least cut it down to 2 to 3 donations instead of 6 per year. I need to get my ferritin up. I know about the vorck protocol but I’m not sure i want to take the chance of possible making it worse if it doesn’t go well.

I have read that it maybe possible to take low dose ferrous bisglycinate.

From what I read-Ferrous Bisglycinate (Chelated Iron): This is the top choice for TRT users because it is absorbed 2–3 times more efficiently than standard iron salts. Because you absorb more of what you take, you can use a smaller “low dose” (e.g., 25mg) to refill ferritin stores without flooding the system with excess iron that might spike red blood cells.Dosage and Frequency Strategy

Daily Low Dose: Aim for 15–28mg of elemental iron.

Alternate-Day Dosing: Taking your low-dose iron every other day has been shown to be nearly as effective as daily dosing while significantly reducing side effects and potentially lowering the stimulus for red blood cell production.

Would this be worth a try for maybe a week or two. Then maybe start microdosing daily for a weekly total of 100mg?

My doctor is not that knowledgeable and I can’t afford a trt clinic at present. I’m thankful to have a prescription from my GP.

I’m stressed also so please don’t be brutal. Thanks

Take iron every other day, not daily. Give it 90 days, repeat lab, report back.

I’ll let you know on day 5 of the vorck protocol trying to go 10 days. It seems hard to find places on the net that specifically talk about his protocol. Thanks
