Craigslist Protection: Potential Buyer is a Minor 2 Hours Away

So I live in Knoxville, TN. I routinely look in Craigslist for the surrounding areas for deals that may be worth driving 2-3 hours. Found a guy in Nashville looking to buy some 10, 25, and 35 pound Olympic weights. I’ve got a few extra laying around, and I’ve got a glute/ham on hold, so I let him know if he can get to Knoxville he can have them for fifty cents/pound. After a couple of emails, we agree on an exit to meet at, “but i have to talk my mom into going with me or letting me come”.

So, it sounds like the kids a minor, and now I’m thinking, what if he gets permission from mom to drive two hours to buy some weights from a guy he met on Craigslist, decides to drive to Mexico, gets corn-holed, and goes back home and says I put it in his pooper? I’m too pretty for prison.

Any suggestions on how to cover my butt in this situation?

bring somebody with you that way if he actually never shows he wouldnt know there was somebody with you and his explanation would be way off.

I saw this going a different direction. Edit: didn’t read the whole title, just saw the craigslist protection part.

In the Northeast Ohio area there have been a few robberies associated with Craig’s list. Person looking to buy a computer meets somewhere with cash for product, winds up getting robbed.

Yup, am serious. If he disappears and the last place he was known to be was heading my way, I don’t want any crap. The last thing I want is to be on the Today show as the next Craigslist murderer/kidnapper/bad guy

I don’t really see how that’s any more likely to happen with a minor than an adult. Some 40 year old guy could disappear on his way to buy stuff off you from Cragislist too

I smell a set up!!! He is getting pre rape advise. Kinda looks like Dateline when the guy shows up at the 12 year olds house with condoms and beer and says “We were just going to talk.” Just kidding~

BTW, love Knoxville TN. I have a sister who lives in Powell. I am friends with a couple Detectives from Knox Co Sheriff’s Office. Knoxville is a beautiful city.

I’ve got a date tonight with a girl I met online. What if she stands me up, drives to Lancaster, Pa and gets picked up then triple teamed by the Amish version of bangbus: bang-buggy? Then claims in court I set her up and we MMMF’d her? I’m too pretty for prison.
