I like what @strongmangoals sugested. Check in all the time. “I am going to take a piss.”, “Ok, I have finished taking a piss.”, “I am going outside for my one hour”, I just walked out the front door." “Oh look pretty flowers.”, “Can you send the police? I want to make sure I am doing it right.”
I always had a philosophy. When someone wanted data and the demonstrated that I haven’t given them enough detail, I then overwhelm them with detail until they beg me to stop. After, nobody asks for much detail.
So yeah, annoy the crap out of those people.

If this doesn’t cause a riot in Australia, it is in fact over

“Excess alcohol is being confiscated until lockdown rules are lifted.” ← Holy shit.
New World Order

Hey @unreal24278 I have a couple of questions.
Can I trust the data from the official Australian government or is it just all lies?
If you commit suicide in Australia but also had covid, how is it listed? Covid or suicide? Or covid induced suicide?
I am asking because I am looking up the suicide data from Australia and they are claiming it’s average or below. But I have read stories of it being higher than normal. Some both cannot be right and someone is lying
I just want your opinion, I know you cannot know it for certain.

It would be listed as a suicide

Depends on the demographics

Suicide rate for kids/teens is much higher than normal. Not sure about adults. The data re suicide rates in kids was covered up, but eventually leaked. Will send link later

Just when you couldn’t think things would get worse, . Man arrested for not wearing a mask(it appears he had a pretty good reason). POLICE BRUTALITY: Sydney Mother begs, “Remove the handcuffs from dying son!” as RIOT Police Converge - YouTube

Lucky this occurred outside a medical centre, with a defib’.

:joy:

Been there. Done that.

Hilarious every single time.

:joy: :joy: :joy:

The Aussies whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting IRL over the years should be locked, loaded and ready to fuck shit up by now. And probably also half drunk.

All I’m gonna say in this post is that things could be much worse depending on what your values are and I’m not here to judge them. There are lots of government actions that I do not condone myself but I think sometimes one needs to look at any kind of bright side that exists to maintain one’s sanity. I know I do.

Remember I recommended that people look at the news about Delta from countries like UK and Singapore? The UK case chart doesn’t seem like it’s going to be anything like India’s despite having a MUCH higher vaccination rate. I’m aware that certain YouTubers have made that claim that a similar trend would occur. There is a possibility of another bigger wave coming assuming they don’t reduce testing. And I personally wouldn’t trust India’s stats.

Singapore is currently experiencing it’s largest wave of community cases since the start of the pandemic even with an 81% FULLY VACCINATED POPULATION.

Their death rate remains low BUT it’s been climbing because:

  1. See * below.

  2. There is now widespread circulation in the community and the transmissibility and the ability to evade vaccines of Delta is so high that even such a high vaccination rate can’t negate the increase in the R0. Community infection rates have tripled compared to the peak in the previous large wave despite some measures still in place to limit the spread like mandates that only allows certain businesses a quota 50% of employees to not WFH and reduced capacities from certain events to even dining out.

  3. Unlike the UK, the infection rates from previous strains have been extremely low so there is only a minute percentage of the population that has developed natural immunity when we take my first point into consideration. I believe this is similar to Australia.

There was a recent announcement that partial to full lockdowns may be reinstated IF data suggests that hospitals will end up overwhelmed. Current data indicates exponential growth occurring despite such a high vaccination rate although it wouldn’t be much of a concern as long as hospitalizations and deaths remain at a “reasonable” level so although a return to lockdowns may be possible, it’s not very probable.

Even if we assume the efficacy of the vaccines is 0% when it comes to prophylaxis, this rate of growth will happen to Australia but the difference is you have only 30+% of the population fully vaccinated so it’s reasonable to assume you will face a pretty high death toll if only due to the sheer number of potential cases and hospital admissions may potentially be overwhelmed if lockdowns stop right now.

*Regarding the charts online showing Singapore’s case numbers:

The cases in their previous bigass wave only involved the original strain and consisted of mainly South Asian migrant workers (Over 95%. At one point, the new daily cases being discovered amongst Bangladeshi workers was HIGHER than the daily number of cases declared in BANGLADESH) who lived in dedicated dormitories away from the main community.

They were all under the age of 40-45, generally fit since they did physical labour and couldn’t afford certain health adverse vices like cigarettes and even stuff like junk food from KFC on their salaries.

They also normally leave and are replaced with new workers relatively frequently and no one other than the government knows how many of the previously infected ones are still in the country. There are still restrictions on their movements outside of their dorms.

Do you think that the precautions taken and high vaccination rate has anything to do with it? Can the lack of natural immunity and vaccinations not be causing the increase in variants as well as vaccine resistant/stronger strains? I have read that’s a concern.

The more a virus spreads, the higher the likelihood of mutation

Interesting development. Lockdowns and alcohol can cause all sorts of down the road health issues. Alcohol can be a contributing factor in domestic abuse, increasing likelihood and probably leads to higher non-compliance with whatever restrictions are in place.

Now that said, I am pretty surprised to see a government take such a direct step on a legal product. Imagine police inspecting your stuff you bought from a store just cause they feel like it and taking it away because they feel it’s no good for you lol

Sorry man, I honestly don’t know. When I brought up “natural immunity”, it was to indicate that even if a county’s vaccination rate may be lower, the number of people who already have natural immunity may be high enough to make up it.

It did cause some uproar as drinking culture is very strong here

However the uproar tends to be instilled only within those affected

Public housing represents the poorest or the poor within our society. If they’re the demographic being marginalised, most aren’t going to care.

Also, the rule is impossible to enforce. NSW police have specified they’ll be unable to stop people ordering alcoholic beverages directly to their door

Still
A massive over-reach, absurd nannystatitis. I think Aus is also trying to ban tobacco being used on private premesis depending on the circumstance
And certain cities are trying to enact/have enacted a complete ban on smoking outside.

At least they’re consistent
I always complain about the discrepancy between how society treats alcohol/tobacco vs various illicit, yet equitably/less harmful substances. Wait til we open up and alcohol is touted as a means to boost tourism. That’s what Victoria is doing with wineries, expensive ‘craft brews’
I find it all so obnoxious. I wouldn’t be on board with cannabis dispensaries advertising their presence to promote tourism and I’m not on board with using booze as a selling point for tourists either.

I don’t mind these businesses existing, but to put them up on a pedestal and use them as a primary means to encourage visitors annoys me given the hypocritical double standards that have become apparent here. Travel to queen-
Sorry, they’ve had a case of covid
 Too dangerous!

Travel to Victoria and get plastered at a Vinyard!!! Totally tubular!!!

Societal rates of drug use in Aus are very high, some of the highest in the world which is very interesting considering how obedient/subservient we are. During this pandemic supposedly methamphetamine use has reached an all time high
Concerning given how high the prevalence of methamphetamine use was at baseline.

Cannabis use also increased
From a baseline of “one of the world’s highest users per capita” and rates of alcohol abuse have also skyrocketed.

I’ve figured out why we are so complacent
Australians must be stoned the whole time
The irrational stupidity/anger and virtue signalling within the general population stems from rampant abuse of alcoholic beverages.

I don’t agree with the rules put in place, but you need to understand the drinking culture here to comprehend why they might impose such a rule. During times like these; day drinking isn’t only acceptable, it’s encouraged. I used to work with someone who would drink nearly a litre of spirits per night
No one questioned anything, he’d openly brag about it.

Guy was a raging alcoholic (only in his 20s mind you) and the booze had an impact regarding his temperament.

Going to university in Aus REALLY put me off alcohol. I’m still of the opinion alcohol abuse far supercedes the harm imposed from various illicit substances

Regardless of how you feel about alcohol or drugs, it’s actually this kind of attitude that led to the authoritarianism. “It’s not me, so I am not bothered about it.” Meanwhile, they make rules for other people, those not affected don’t care. Until those rules come for them when it’s too late because you let the nanny state grow to big. Again, I don’t mean you personally. It’s me being lazy with speech, I mean it more like ‘your lot’.
Knowing a nanny state overreach and sounding off about it even when you are not affected personally would have gone a long way.

At this point, outside of armed revolution, I don’t know how to save Australia and I wish I could. But your people voluntarily disarmed and are helpless in the face of even tepid force because of it.
Do you need help with an exit plan. Do you need an outsider to vouch for your necessity to travel? I could be your dying cousin

Please do

That officially made me sick to my stomach. They are standing guard at the hospital to arrest him for not wearing the mask he is medically exempt from having to wear? They almost killed the guy. They treated him like he was trying to rob the place. Wow
You lot are in trouble. If you don’t find a way to fight back, you’ll be trying to escape to China for freedom.
Suggestions, every government official who’s email you got. Subscribe them to thousands of free news letters. Gay ones, strait ones, disgusting ones. Oh, I know, sign them up for Trump’s news letter, he’ll send them tons of shit.
The best thing you can do is overwhelm their IT infrastructure. Send them ransomware, send them spam. Viruses of all sorts. Sign them up for nasty porn sites that have tons of viruses. Get all your friends to join in and pile it on. You’d be surprised how much you can do from behind a keyboard. And if you want to get really froggy there are ways to tunnel and use multiple vpns, use free MAC address masking software and use deletable VM’s to do it if your scared.
It’s a little civil disobedience and it may just slow them down enough it will definitely frustrate them. This is just some brainstorming on my part to hopefully give you ideas to fight back with, where you are not putting yourself in danger. I encourage you to get creative.

Covid is never going away. Attempts to thwart it’s very existence is the very definition of futility. There will always be new variants, new strains, etc. It’s the perfect political storm for despotism. A permanent crisis where you can take away people’s civil liberties and they will thank you for it, until you become insane like Australia has.
Ah, but the U.S. is right behind. Our flabby old dictator has just tried to roll out mandates and shit just like Australia. Fortunately, before the speech was even over, businesses and states already put together a plan to sue the executive. And I expect red states to fully ignore most of these mandates and blue states to implement them fully.

Even the Bolsheviks knew taking or restricting alcohol was a very stupid idea. It was the one thing they never were in short supply of. They may not have had food or clean water, but they had vodka and it was cheap and plentiful always. Regardless of how you personally feel about drinking, much blood and treasure throughout history has been wasted on temperance. And when you are immiserating the population with your despotism and you won’t even allow them to numb themselves with liquor, folks get pretty cranky pretty fast. And they just may seek to revolt. I don’t know how much more Aussies can take before people’s heads just finally explode. I guess we’re going to find out, because they seem hell bent on this “new world order”. <-There words not mine. And yup, that went around the globe like wildfire.

Can you stop with the alarmism like bringing up Bolsheviks and shit lol? Australia is a 1st World Country, and one with a pretty good economic track record. It is also a parliamentary democracy. Singapore’s ruling party got the lowest votes in their entire history in last year’s elections right after ONE lockdown. The perception that the government caused this because of how the government had been handling the issue of migrant workers whom made up over 95% of the number of infected also contributed to this.

The Australian government put themselves in a silly conundrum because they tried the “Zero Covid” strategy again. It worked with prior strains so they had lots of public support. Results matter.

But it doesn’t fucking work with Delta.

They can’t backdown on their measures now because the caseloads and deaths will explode exponentially. Put yourself in their place while assuming their public service is fucking overworked right now like in other countries on this side of the globe.

What are their options?

  1. Open up and take the blame for the high number of cases and deaths?

  2. Double down on the lockdowns while trying to get people vaccinated ASAP to get to a good majority of the public vaccinated so they can pass the buck to the unvaccinated for the spread when they open up?

I’d choose the 2nd option if I wanted to maintain public support.

Of all the countries here, other than China, the governments just want to fucking open up because:

  1. Vaccines are now available. Even Australia has stated covid will become endemic. There will never be a 100% vaccination rate even if we only count adults. They now have a “get out of jail free” card and can easily pass the buck to the unvaccinated.

  2. They’re fucking running out of money. Malaysia and Indonesia never even wanted to lockdown in the first place. They first tried to deny that covid had entered their countries. I also wrote above that at one point in time, Singapore recorded more Bangladeshi migrant workers infected daily than Bangladesh did lol. There were an estimated 100,000+ of them in Singapore. Bangladesh has a fucking population of 163 million lmao. I’m not making this up. I posted about this while it was happening in another thread right in this forum. You can go check the date and google the stats from there. Fuck, even the UK didn’t even want to until Boris got infected. It was public pressure in most countries on this side of the globe with shitty healthcare systems that made the governments do so.

  3. The public service is massively overworked and even outsourcing stuff like quarantining suspected cases and mass testing has led to cluster fucks of varying levels in different countries. Think about public servants as normal individuals just doing a job. Do you think they want their workloads increased? Do you think police officers want be deployed and have to don all their riot gear and go control protests every night while getting more and more hate from the public when lots of them could be at home or sitting on their asses in the station and collecting the same pay check?

  4. People will tire of the lockdowns eventually and since current lockdowns aren’t having the same effect as they did with previous strains, they know they’ll get voted out. I said above that if you guys in Australia want to get info about covid and potential government policies, read the news in the UK and Singapore. If you want to see the shitshows that have happened and are still ongoing because of covid from the results of inaction on the part of the government to dumbass shit happening within the government, look at the news in Malaysia and Indonesia.

You and Pat are both right. The Australian govt made a bad choice with zero covid.
Australia is a first world democracy but like America it has been heavily eroded by generations of Marxist dominance and influence in the public service, media, and education. Whilst its not open Bolshevism(yet) its pretty close, just a little more subtle in its openness. Even the conservative party has its balls in a vise of political correctness, and panders to the Marxist indoctrinated rather than roll back stupid, impractical laws.

I don’t have much faith in the current vaccines either. Yesterday 9 people died in Sydney from Covid. 3 were double vaccinated, 3 had one shot, and 3 were unvaccinated. Its not compelling numbers, but it goes against the idea being pushed by the government and the media that the vaccine is going to solve all our problems.

I think you’re all thinking too much. Just my opinion.

These were almost the exact same stats from Singapore 2 months ago. Why do you think I told you all to follow the news there lol? The ratio, however, has shifted since most people are now fully vaccinated. It’s now about 9% partially or unvaccinated vs 1.7% of fully vaccinated people with confirmed infections developing severe illness or dying. It seems one shot does very little unless you’ve had covid before.

Take into account the fact that the ratio of the former group to the fully vaccinated group is now 19 : 81.

This is what’s happening in a country with 81% of it’s population (5.7 million) fully vaccinated:
