I disagree , every one here thinks I am liberal and my ticket was very heavy on libertarian

How on Earth you reconcile that with your desire to redistribute the wealth through government action is beyond comprehension.
That must of been mean’t for the joke of the day thread.

I like where you are going with this. It’s critical that people don’t confuse conservative with republican. I hope you are correct about Cruz; I remain skeptical.
Wait…so “liberal” and “democrat” are not the same?
No they are not, but all liberals vote Democrat. All Conservatives do not vote Republican.
How does that make sense to you?

Why is it impossible for a liberal to vote republican but possible for a conservative to vote democrat?

That sounds like bullshit.
I never said that conservatives vote democrat. Conservatives will vote Republican or Libertarian, or they will just not vote (I do not agree with this).

If a liberal votes Republican it is a mistake. Being Liberal is an Ideology that fits only with Democrats. Conservative is an ideology only tied to being Fiscally Conservative so they have a choice. Republican, Blue Dog Democrat, or Libertarian.

Actually makes sense. Look it up.

Edit: my typing skills today are really sucking. My very first Sentence should have said, “I never said that conservatives never vote Democrat.”

I think you have liberals and progressives confused.
You may be correct. Liberals today and progressives have a tendency to flock together though.

Edit #2: I should not have used absolute terms, because there are people that will have an ideology and still vote for the other party because that is what their parents did.
No problem, maddox.

You guys actually seem a little more level headed than the freaks who were in here years back.

It is all really moot anyway. Your typical run of the mill everyman Contemporary American Liberal isn’t really a liberal in the classic sense.
That’s my point.
I realize the terms have been co-opted (usually by the opposition) in the attempt to cast a specter; however if they aren’t liberal in the classic sense then they are not liberals. What is described as liberal today is a classic progressive. Classic liberals are to the right of what is today described as conservative.

I try not to be an ass, but sometimes I am. Sorry.

I also have a tendency to use hyperbole to try and make a point, and it can be hard to pick up. I should tone it down. Sorry guys.

BlueCollar you are correct. Classic Liberals and Progressive are different in ideology, but today the term liberal and progressive are used enter changeably. It seems like when the old name gets a bad rap they do a new marketing campaign to change it to something else. It is hard to keep up with. Now they use Progressive, and then in 5-10 years they will move on to Communist (Hyperbole).

I was up late last night and drank a bit too much. I am running on a couple hours of sleep. I have been an ass today so I apologize. I have allowed a bit too much to get under my skin.

And yes PWI. It is an addiction.

I personally do not want to redistribute any one’s wealth , I just want the wealth the middle class lost to the upper class , returned . I call it REREDISTRIBUTION .

I think America needs a liberal dose of progress, Conserving our fiscal assets . (ASK)

Our problem is the way we elect our politicians . The people that contribute to the campaigns expect results for their contribution .

50 American (PEOPLE) donate more than %50 of all Americans .Policy is written to benefit the wealthy . Citizens United is the reason we can not tell Bush from Obama and we would never seen any difference between Obama and Romney besides a white president and maybe minus Obama care

So laws against say murder aren’t good in your opinion?
usmccds423 wrote:

Murder is a violation of another’s right ot life. So there would be laws against it.

I actually agree with Pitt’s statement in his last post, although would prefer it was worded differently. Even though it falls well short of redistribution of wealth, it is a good starting point for any worth while government system.

In response to ‘direct’ force or fraud.
