WOW!!! Thanks for all the feedback. I thought this would not have an easy answer. I wonder if there is some sort of consumer reports for supplements - since they are not regulated I would think someone would have started a great new business of testing supps. for label vs. content accuracies, and user feedback.
Back to the original topic, my current eas mixes pretty good in a cup with any liquid and a spoon, this is importnant to me because if it becomes a pain in the ass then I just dont use it. For example: I had a jar of max muscle protein that sat in the shelf for about 2 years beacuse it was pretty nasty and hard to mix.
So… in the spirit of this discussion could we have evryone post their current protein supplement maybe in the format below: (remember! protein only, not meal replacements, or other mixes)
My current protein:
EAS 100% Whey Protein (label name)
23 grams per scoop 75 servings per container
My strength is up on most lifts by 10 to 15 lbs since using it, started a month ago.
Mixes easily with a cup and spoon, taste is mild and goes down easy, paid approx $35 at GNC for 5 lb jar.
I can’t wait to see your infos … again thanks for the discussion.

if budget wasn’t a critical deficiency (fortunately it isn’t) and quality and taste were of paramount importance
if budget isn’t a consideration then you should be spending your money on real food like steak, chicken, fish, pork chops, etc…
protein powder is for convenience only, it is not a superior souce of protein to real food…[/quote]
Well, no shit Sherlock, thanks for enlightening me. I do purchase and eat the foods you mentioned. However, getting 230 plus grams of protein a day from whole food can be a little tough, hence the use of a high quality MRP.
Now, I can only speak for myself and for me it is worth every penny to know I am using a quality supp when I use it. I choose not to buy my products from Costco. If others do that’s fine it’s just not my choice.

hey, it’s great that you’re enlightened…
but, you might be suprised at how many numbskulls ingest the majority of their protein in powder form instead of real food…

You’re in luck Tribulus. Costco just started carrying grass-fed hormone-free ground beef in their freezer section.
And they carry organic eggs as well, in the NYC area at least.

I gotta disagree: the products CostCo sells under the “Kirkland” label are uniformly geat deals and great quality.
CostCo’s meat section is far better than any of the supermarket’s in my area, as well.
I have to go along with this. Same with Sam’s Club. They even use the better more expensive versions of vitamins like D instead of DL-Alpha Tocheperyl for their inhouse E caps for instance.
The meat deals could only be better if it was range fed. The large package deals for lots of their other stuff like cheese are really good too. I just cannot pass up some of those deals. It may be different if I made more money, but that’s how it is.
Spent oodles of money on GNC pro performance for about 8-12 months before running into the sportpharma protein bag at costco. My gains with the sportpharma equaled that of my gains with the pro performance. The difference came down to price and the fact that I didn’t have to buy 2 protein packs to get my micellar casein.
That’s about it. And oh ya, I also got hooked on the target brand creatine.
Do they still carry this 6-lb bags at your local Costco? I didn’t see it the last time I went, just a bunch of 2-lb isolates. I like isolates, but right now I don’t need the highest quality protein, I just want a lot of it on the cheap.
Btw, for the clumping, no more than 1.5 scoops per liter of water and mixing it at least half an hour before drinking it works great for me.

a liter? That’s a ton of water. Do you drink on it for half the day rather than pound it as a shake?
