Cost of obesity

I just read this article and I thought some of you might like it. It basically says obesity is costing the country $75 billion a year. Damn!!

May everyone in the US hear the immortal words:

GFL!

People should have to take a yearly body fat assessment, then be taxed accordingly.

You should also be taxed if you smoke, in addition to the tax on the actual purchase.

That should do the trick,
Ryan

sure, then the next one they tax is
everyone’s shit so that we can have clean water and better lands, such bullshit taxing fat…

Actually that sounds like old numbers. They say it’s closer to $115 billion now. There was more spent on healthcare paperwork in 2000 than the entire military budget!! Trist me I see it every day. About 95% of our calls are obesity related. The rest are the actual accidents and old ladies having strokes. They have a whole new line of ambulances and equipment for these fat asses. We have this tarp with handles on it, so we can roll them on, get 7-10 guys to pick up the 500 pound whale and toss her in the truck. The regular stretcher has to be removed and everything.

Ahhh yes.
Obesity and Diabetes. I understand that about 2/3 of all Medicare dollars go to treat the complications (CHF, Hypertension, etc.) of diabetes. I would hazard a guess that a great deal of these fat-asses are type II’s, so there’s probably some “statistical crossover”. Thank you, fat-asses, for making the world a shittier place.

Love, Dave
