Crushed: I asked for a tartan robe for Christmas. I am hoping to get some athletic slippers, preferably in the traditional Scottish bunny rabbit motif, as well.

Nice. They should be killer Scottish bunny slippers. Something akin to Monty Python’s Holy Grail.
As long as no one sets off a holy hand grenade at my feet…
So no workouts today. The roofing was too cold and cracking as I installed it so I had to move it into the only large warm area in the house…my lifting platform. Back at it Monday…until then stuck hammering for exercise.
Nic work Corrm!
Thanks Sen!
AM Workout:
Stacked bales for sheep for the winter. Drinking post workout coffee…it was supposed to be squat day, bales are more of a glute/trap dominant workout.

Sumo deadlift - high pull. Overhead bale squats.
Honestly, manual labor has something deeply satisfying. Moving stuff around, gardening, assembling (or dis-assembling) furniture, hammeing rocks - much better than stroller lollygagging, lol.
I saw an oldtimer driving poles into the ground in his garden, I was tempted, whether I should join him with my hammer.
Avacado: I still use a maul to put in fence posts every spring. Best ab/lat workout ever!
I exceeded cardiovascular capacity with the hay and I’m still feel like I was punched in the nose and my chest is still sore. ![]()
I had to tarp up the rest of my roof as I can’t lift the table saw clear to cut the rest of my panels and the snow is supposed to be here tonight. My oldest boy is at fencing so I’ll have to wait until he is back for a hand. So my workout area will have roofing panels in it for a while yet. Going to move my DB’s into the living room and see what I can do for next week in there. Should be back to normal the week after.
You have sheeple? How cute. Great workout, I used to love doing farm work, as long as it was a novelty of course.
This is the last year for the fluffies. Got rid of almost all of them, pitching bales is almost killing me and once the temperature is in the negatives I won’t be able to do it unless they fix me up. Seeing as that hasn’t been going well and no one wants to fill in for the heavy farm work they are going. Down to 6 plus a donkey. The rest are going in the freezer.

I bet there may be enough Edmontonians to do a T-Nation steak night. Except that I’m afraid it may break out in fighting over each other’s food. Meat lust is something to not take lightly.
Edit: That sounded much worst than I intended.
We have steak in Nebraska.
This is one of the coolest post,s i,ve ever seen! how much cardio to you burn fighting during the game? or is it hockey match?

Minimal, the correct way to end that post would have been:
“You all look like Nathan Fillion and you are trying to get a hold of each other’s meat? …I’ll be in my bunk.”
AM Workout:
DL 5x152.4, 5x190, 3x227.5, 5x285, 3x322.5, 4x360, 5x10x190
Zercher 3x10x220, 1x8x220
I knew the overhead carries would screw up me zerchers. Great thing about zerchers is that the bar falls in front, and I missed both of my feet…decided to choose the better part of valor on the 5th set. I forgot to add in the T-Bar swings…
Worked on the roof for evening workout. Snow is scheduled for Sunday and I’m only half done.
Remind me to teach you how to deadlift. lol. um, er, pretty sure i can do 405 even with my pussy ass(sorry ladies) once a week training. oh yeah, havent done them in about 4 months. hmm, maybe start with 325?
Man, I love your avatar. How long did you compete in the highland games type events? I see those guys throwing heavy stuff around and don’t think i could do any of it
K, I guess I need to post on my log instead of just everyone else’s.
I was just finishing up one cycle on the 531 Boring But Big program. I did my oly lifts in the evenings as conditioning. I lost 2 pounds, and an inch off my waist so the little body comp calculator I use tells me I packed on a couple pounds of muscle, but the weights feel heavier if anything so I don’t feel like I had much in the way of strength gains. I missed maxing out too, though, so I think part of me didn’t want it to go too well. Missed out on the bench and squat deload as well.
I was going to try a Thibaudeau Layer workout starting this week, but my workout area is fill of roofing and my mum’s furniture. I am finishing clearing out her place this week, and it has been 3-4 hours each evening, so no time for a workout anyway. I am hoping it warms up enough to finish off the roof next week, but if not the roofing is going back outside until spring as well. Next week back to lifting either way.
I am working on the oly lifts mainly to get my hip thrust and shoulder flexibility back before I start throwing. If I start practicing with limited range of motion on those joints I am going to probably end up with a bad motor pattern, so I want to wait and force it using something I’m never going to compete in.
Confusion: Sorry didn’t mean to hit you with three unanswered posts, but I wanted to post a workout with the answers and it hasn’t been coming lately.
Correct, hockey is usually game not a match. I don’t know why it has 3 periods either.
My DL max last I tested it was 470. May have been able to grind out more, but I started as a thrower and I just can’t get behind a lift that doesn’t want to accelerate. The last workout was from Wendler’s 531 program and you end up doing a lot so sub maximal work.
I threw shot and discus up until high school and dropped out of sports my senior year as I was aiming for an academic scholarship which paid more than you can get from a sports scholarship as a thrower. When I was done university I started throwing highland. I did a couple of strongman events as well, as we had the all strength challenge guys come by some of the highland games with their toys. I quit when I was thirty, so I highland would have been 8 years, plus another 5 shot and discus.
Basically I stopped when I got a hernia, was told to “not lift anything over 5#” until it was repaired, and I listened. Then coming back I strained a rotator cuff and decided to listen to the same doctor who was freaking out about my weight. I was 285, but I had a 38" waist. I weigh 250 now, and my waist is 40" as of Sunday morning. 10 years of karate, cross country skiing and running to be “healthy” in between and I have some sort of heart/lung condition that keeps me from doing any sort of sustained cardio. Haven’t gotten a good answer about what the problem is though, but off for another CT scan Thursday. I know I fail a cardiac stress test but my angiogram is clear.
^^^Interesting stats. I may throw in an interlude after finishing my cycle as well and do a round of Upper/Lower Circuit Training to melt off a few pounds, before I start going into the bulking month december.
But that might be to conditioning oriented. Love those circuits.
That should give me a little break from the “heavy” stuff, I’m lately doing, plus it has squats and DLs in it.
Actually I admire those stone and log throwers, same with strongmen.
Must be pretty stressful for you, with the medical stuff. Carrying furniture around isnt child,s play either! hang in there brother, youre doing great

I’m not too bad. Just need to get the clutter cleared away. Got inspired to take pics of my own flabby ass so if I get in shape I can see the difference later. Wife refused to add my head in if I was going to be “stripping down, flexing like a monkey and posting it on the internet” so for my face you have to go back to the video.
“stripping down, flexing like a monkey and posting it on the internet” were those her words or yours? At least you have your number 1 cup!
Sorry, I forgot the huge picture thing and I’m not sure how to remove it. Anyway, here are teh three angles…
Busted, I’m paraphrasing. “Your not posting topless photo’s of yourself on the internet are you?” may have been a more literal rendition of what she said, but she meant “flexing like a monkey”.
When I first read that I thought you were talking about my moobs. I have a bunch of #1 cups. We tend to break a lot of cups, so we grab them in bulk at garage sales and such.
you,re in shape now bud. we,re just taking it to the next level. well done
