This. Most people just go along to get along. They still think it’s ridiculous, but would rather not be bothered.
Would you mind sharing how you arrived at these?
It’s posting something that not even you believe.
It would be Dr. He or She.
Or maybe they actually think.
This is why I do not agree with mask wearing being legislated even though I think people should take the initiative to wear masks outside.
Here’s something something to think about:
Prior to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the Hong Kong government was trying to make mask wearing ILLEGAL due to the protests. If they had succeeded, wearing a mask while outside during the initial stages of the pandemic would have been an act of resistance.
So does nitpicking how other people wear things.
LOOK AT ALL THESE MOTHERFUCKERS WEARING BASEBALL CAPS!
IN THEIR CARS!
THEY AREN’T PLAYING BASEBALL IN THEIR CAR!
So fucking silly.
Regarding masks, and topics such as infection through eyes, this is a good video to watch. I’m sorry you will have to read the subtitles as it’s in Korean. I don’t understand a word of Korean myself even though my wife watches Korean dramas all day.
This was published almost 2 months ago and the interview probably took place earlier. This is the info South Korea already had back then. The guy in the video is South Korea’s “most prominent infectious disease expert.”
Baseball caps block sun from the eyes. That’s useful both when playing baseball and driving a car.
Masks, if I assume 100% effectiveness in blocking viruses from either entering or exiting, are used to limit the spread of stuff that can be transmitted through the air(right?). That’s great in a public place. I can even see wearing one at home if others live with you. I have a hard time understanding why someone is riding in a car alone(with windows up) and wearing a mask.
Wearing a mask in public is already illegal in many places in America, with exceptions. I guess, if one feels a need to feel rebellious, wearing a mask in Hong Kong could have satisfied that urge, if not for the Rona.
Them viruses come at ya fast through the vents in your cah
This has been made quite clear in this thread, in replies to you, I think. But I shall try again. The US is approaching 100 000 fatalities, and will definitely exceed it. This is the case with intervention. Delayed, patchwork, slipshod intervention, but intervention nonetheless. There are many more people who have received or will receive costly medical care. There are many others who will not receive medical care, for Covid-19 and other ailments because of the limited resources available. These facts have yet to change.
Would you like to guess at what the numbers would be without intervention?
(Remember to include some of your colleagues, friends, other loved ones in those new numbers)
It would be just that for anyone, a guess. There’s no proof that the “intervention” has even aided on this front. How would you prove it?
I know some intervention that made things much worse
No, most definitely not for anyone. Epidemiology is not exactly a soft science. Even if it were, there are people whose experience and expertise allows them to make far better educated guesses than you are equipped to. They all arrived at “Stay the fuck home!”.
I will no longer respond to your bad-faith statements/queries. You have the luxury of starting from a conclusion and finding the steps that lead you to it. I do not, personally or professionally. Fortunately, most people in charge at this moment do not, either.
You don’t need to.
You just have your fingers so far up in other people’s shit that you think it’s yours now.
A read a great statement by a writer this morning:
“The face mask evolved from a piece of protective equipment into a political litmus test”.
And countries that have experienced fairly recent hardships have no problem being disciplined because they implicitly understand that the alternatives are far worse, unlike the no-mask snowflakes.
Those countries, some of which are now cautiously opening up their economies and societies, were also those that could draw on deep reservoirs of resilience born of relatively recent hardship.
Compared to what their people had been through not long ago, the stringent lockdowns seemed less arduous, apparently prompting a larger social buy-in.
The nations include many in the former Communist East, as well as Greece and Croatia, where the authorities are cautiously optimistic about their people’s endurance in the face of adversity.
But I guess they don’t cherish liberty, or whatever this is:
So does the visor in the car. In fact, it even flips up conveniently so that it doesn’t impede view when not in use. Because visors of any type, by their very nature and function–impede a person’s view!
Still no reason to wear a baseball cap when not playing baseball.
Idiotic really.
Now I’m going to jump to some rule of law argument while ignoring all of the other ones I don’t like!

“we have to preserve the rule of law… Blah blah… as I conveniently ignore the ones granting the feds and states authority to act and implement quarantine measurements during a pandemic”.
Quite the Gordian knot some folks have created with their untethered principles , or really just emotions propped up as principles.
Maybe you should pay attention to the road and not be a creep who is upset about people wearing masks while driving because it means there is less of a chance you will catch someone picking his nose.
Question for those who know. Before corona, if someone with cancer or another serious disease contracted the flu and subsequently died, was flu listed as the cause of death?
