I’ve read a few things about this flick. Many “knew” of it’s existence, but it was becoming a sort of “urban legend” in filmdom. FINALLY it was revealed at the recent Comic-Con.
VERY cool. But then one of the guys responsible use to be on Stan Winston’s (Aliens, Predator, Terminator) team. The short was created out of frustration by a group of film makers who wanted to see what they could do with THEIR version of “Batman”.
That was way too cool. I liked how they actually used a real body for Batman and not a padded up movie star. Wasn’t that Clarkman dude an old feature in Muscle Media 2000 years ago?
Well the Alien and Predators were a bit unexpected. But still cool as shit. If they do make another Batman movie I wish they would do it like this…minus the Alien and Predator. Clark Bartram actually makes for a very convincing Batman. Better than any of the “movie stars”. So nice to see no fake muscles. Plus his face just totally suits the Batman look from the comics. Good stuff.
I didn’t the plot but the visuals are outstanding. It’s too bad that we’ll never see either a Batman or Superman with some convincing size. I’m betting that Dean Cain is the closest we ever get.
BTW: the guy who’s the “Joker” is Andrew Koenig. He’s the son of Walter Koenig; you know, “Chekov” from “Star Trek”.
Hey, I love this short. It’s a kick in the pants to the last three pieces of shit Batman movies that the powers that be in WB and DC Comics could come up with. Keep in mind that WB/DC had MUCH bigger budgets and star power available than what these guys had for this.
Amazing what you can do when you’re really creative. :-))
This is similar to the Duality post that I did a while back. Small budget but way better than the super shit of the new starwars movies. Creativity and hollywood don’t often meet. It’s always the execs. saying “this won’t make money unless it has” and then they use some stupid formula to shitify it. The bottom line fucks us all in every line of commerce. Blah.
